The Parish Council for Stamford Bridge is here to serve the village of Stamford Bridge in the East Riding of Yorkshire, UK. If you have any questions, or wish to raise issues through the Parish Council, please contact our Clerk via the website, email address, or telephone number listed under 'about'. Parish Council meetings take place on the second Monday of every month and you are very welcome to join us and speak during the 'Public Participation' slot. Meetings start at 7.30 pm and the agenda and location - which sometimes vary - are displayed on the Parish Council Notice Boards, in our Parish magazine 'The Link' and on this page.

We are hosting our annual senior tea party on Saturday, 26th of September. This is always a really popular event and we have had some tickets returned to us.

Location: Stamford BridgeVillage Hall
Time: 2-4pm

Join us for afternoon tea, music from Nigel Heap and some dancing 🎉

If you or you know someone who be interested please do pop into the Post Office and pick up some tickets.

We wanted to remind people of The Cornmill’s update. Today (12th September) they are going to set alight the twigs and branches that have been taken out. There will be a large fire which should not cause concern.

What an absolutely amazing day we had yesterday at the Stamford Bridge Summer Fair.

We want to say a huge thank you to the Summer Fair committee who work year round to make sure the fair comes together. Their hard work and dedication on the day is invaluable, the fair would not happen without them. Thank you to members of the PC who gave up their time and for their support.

We want to thank our wonderful stall holders, our talented performers and entertainers. A special thank you to all those who came and enjoyed the fair. It was a wonderful atmosphere 🥰 we are so blessed to have an amazing supportive community in Stamford Bridge and it was lovely to see so many of you yesterday.

We will enjoy a little rest before planning starts for next year 😂🎉❤️

We have sadly had to make the decision to close the Overflow Car Park until further notice. This is not a decision that the Parish Council has taken lightly.

Due to reports of travellers near Gate Helmsley and camping on community fields across York, we have taken the decision to secure the field to protect the residents who live closest. We expect this to be in place during the Ebor festival a short period afterwards.

We will continue to monitor the situation and open the overflow car park as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvience caused and our main aim is open the car park when it is safe to do so.

📣 We have a vacancy for a parish councillor and are looking to fill the post by co-option.

Are you over 18 and interested in village life and feel you could contribute? You will need to be available on the second Monday of each month for Parish Council meetings and we also have a few major events mainly at weekends throughout the year which we will require councillors to available to assist with.

If this sounds like something you are interested in then, please email our Clerk at [email protected]. Our Clerk will be able to give your more information about the role and next steps on the co-option process.

If this is your car, please don’t worry! You can contact us on the phone number on the sign and we can arrange for the gate to be opened.

A friendly reminder that the car park is locked each evening at 7pm
