We’re appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a motorcycle, which happened yesterday, Tuesday, September 1, at approximately 2.05pm, on Greencroft Parkway, Stanely.

The vehicle, a green Kawasaki ZX6, was travelling towards the junction with the A693 where we believe it carried out an overtake before losing control, striking the kerb with the driver being ejected from the bike.

The 60-year-old rider was taken to hospital by air ambulance with suspected serious abdominal injuries.

We would like to speak to anyone who saw the bike around this time, in particular the driver of the vehicle the bike overtook prior to the collision. If you can help, please contact Durham Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit by email at [email protected], quoting incident number 242 of September 1.

A dispersal order is currently in effect in Stanley town centre following a spate of anti-social behaviour tonight.

The order is in place for the next 12 hours.

Anyone suspected of causing trouble in this area will be issued with a dispersal order, banning them from returning.

Those who ignore the order will face arrest.

🚓Stanley Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Update🚓

Here is a brief update of what your Neighbourhood Officers have been up to over the past week;

🏍 Your Neighbourhood Team assisted in the search for two suspects, following a pursuit of a stolen moped by our colleagues at Durham Roads & Armed Policing. Our drone was also deployed to search the area! The stolen moped was recovered.

🚒 PCSOs assisted County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service at a fire at a business premises in South Moor. All persons were safe and no injuries were reported.

🗣️ PCSOs attended a Pop up PACT meeting at ASDA alongside Durham County Council Neighbourhood Wardens - North where they engaged with members of the public.

🚓 Officers assisted our colleagues at Chester-le-Street Police with an incident of affray. A temporary containment was put in place and our drone was deployed to secure the scene, multiple arrests were made.

🚨 PCSOs and PCs attended an incident where a vulnerable individual was seen walking in the road. They were located, taken home and safeguarding measures/referrals were put in place.

🔍 Your Neighbourhood Team assisted in the search of a young missing person, including the deployment of our Police drone. They were located safe and well.

🏍️ PCs and PCSOs located a moped, stolen from the Chester-Le-Street area, from Dipton. The moped was recovered from the area.

📸 PCSOs have completed enquiries into crimes such as harassment, criminal damage, shoplifting and incidents of anti-social behaviour.

👮‍♂️ Officers assisted our colleagues at Consett Police with arrest attempts following an incident of assault. PCSOs assisted with the cordon and crime scene preservation.

🚓Stanley Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Update🚓
Here is a brief update of what your Neighbourhood Officers have been up to over the past week;

👮PCSOs attended a community event organised by South Moor Together, engaging with local residents.

📸 CCTV enquiries have been ongoing following a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier this week. Officers are reviewing footage and carrying out enquiries to identify those involved.

🏍 PCSOs attended an incident involving off-road bikes, where a group of youths were reported to be riding in a dangerous manner, causing concern to members of the public. Enquiries are ongoing.

👮A welfare check was conducted by PCSOs on a vulnerable adult following concerns for their well being. The female was located safe and well.

🚓Officers have been carrying out a number of crime enquiries in relation to a recent theft, including gathering information and speaking with potential witnesses.

👮Neighbourhood officers attended the scene of a reported attempted burglary and conducted initial enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

🚨PCSOs have carried out Community Speed Watch operations at a number of locations across the area to help improve road safety and address concerns raised by residents regarding speeding vehicles.

Craghead: Of the 50 vehicles monitored, 5 were recorded travelling over the speed limit.

Durham Road: Of the 185 vehicles monitored, 20 were recorded travelling over the speed limit.

🚨Do you know where your kids are?🚨

Officers are appealing to parents of children in the local area, after multiple incidents of arson and wildfires in the Stanley area this evening.

Police, and our colleagues at County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service, have attended multiple incidents this evening in the local area, of large fires taking over grassed areas and a suspected arson at a local business.

If your child is out in the area tonight, please contact them and ensure they are not committing any offences or putting the public, wildlife or even themselves, at risk!

🚓Stanley Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Update🚓

Here is a brief update of what your Neighbourhood Officers have been up to over the past week;

🚨 On Tuesday, Neighbourhood officers and PCSOs, dealt with an incident in Shield Row whereby an evacuation was necessary. Two men were arrested in relation to the production of fireworks. An investigation is ongoing but we would like to express that we believe this to be an isolated incident with no threat to the wider community.

☀️ Neighbourhood officers and PCSOs visited Tanfield Railway on Wednesday to say hello to those attending their Letting Off Steam event. This is free for families so make sure you visit their page and book a visit!

📸 Officers have conducted multiple house to house and CCTV enquiries for offences such as theft of motor vehicle, shoplifting and anti-social behaviour incidents.

🍕 PCSOs attended Stanley Street Food Market where they engaged with members of the public and gave advice and crime prevention equipment.

🔍 Your neighbourhood team, alongside response officers, assisted in the search for a vulnerable missing female. PCSOs deployed the Police Drone to help the search. Thankfully she was found safe and well.

🚓 Officers and PCSOs have dealt with multiple incidents of anti-social behaviour. One anti-social behaviour contract has been issued to a youth alongside Durham County Council. One youth is awaiting interview for linked offences. Enquiries are ongoing into other youths involved.

🎯 Our Emergency Services Fun Day took place on Thursday and was a great success! We hope everyone who came enjoyed themselves, despite the heat.

🫂 PCSOs completed a Herbert Protocol for a member of the community who suffers from Dementia. The Herbert Protocol assists us and other partner agencies, assist vulnerable individuals suffering with Dementia or Alzheimer's, should they go missing.

👮Neighbourhood officers interviewed a male youth for two incidents of assault.

📍Friday 21st August, 10:30am - Dipton Coffee Morning at Jubilee Centre.
