MISSING...Did anybody pick up a pair of childrens Nike trainers by mistake at the Ducks Fest?
The child had to leave shoeless, and we would really like to get them returned to him.

Well it has been a strange half-term in many ways but the children have been busy, happy, creative and curious. We rounded off the last week with fancy dress days. Wishing all the swans the very best of luck in their new adventure at school. Looking forward to seeing the ducklings return for lots more fun in September.

The swans have had a colourful week painting rainbows and making pictures of bees and flowers. The ducklings found sticks in the wood and painted them. We used tweezers to pick up pom-poms and raced cars down the slope. Only one more week to go, we are going to make it a fun one!

This week we have been dodging the showers but have managed to spend a lot of time in the garden. We looked at the life cycle of the butterfly, making some clever caterpillars and beautiful butterflies. All the children are very settled now, making firm friendships within their groups and taking the new procedures in their stride. We are going to have a fun last two weeks with some extra-special activities!

Phew! A hot week at the Ugley Duckling. Luckily the barn stays cool so we were able to keep busy. The swans learnt about pirates and made interesting string paintings. The ducklings made colourful ice-cream cones and released some butterflies grown from caterpillars at home by one of the children.

We have all been very busy this week, lots of activities for those little fingers and imaginative play. Half the children are now joining us at Ugley Ducklings, things are still a bit different but we are all getting used to it and having fun together.

We have had a lovely week with both the swans and ducklings attending, everyone has settled in amazingly well after the long break. The children have been doing number activities, sorting, threading, sticking, playing with their friends and of course, washing their hands!
