Abbey Road Conservation Volunteers The Abbey Road Conservation Area is owned by Steyning Parish Council and is a registered Village Green.

It has a mix of fantastic habitats in a small area, and a huge variety of wildlife.

Despite the  drought, Abbey Rd is a naturally damp site and still has a good range of wildflowers flowering. These include Water Mint, Gypsy Wort, Aquatic Figwort, Purple Loosestrife. Also found Hoary Ragwort, Meadow Vetchling, and Great Willowherb. Lots of Bumble Bees and Common Blue butterflies visiting the flowers.

Another batch of Froglets returned to wet grass around pond area. Frogspawn collected early Feb and kept in tanks until now. Pond dried up before the rest could develop. Over 100 froglets now released, with more to come.
