Today's offering comes, once again, from our wonderful and witty original cartoons from the Scots Independent Collection. Ewen Bain cartoons featured in the newspaper throughout the 1970s and 80s and we have some beautiful hand drawn examples in the archive.

For 19 we have more election material - not all elections evidenced in the archive are local! The European election material from 2019 keeps a record of the results, shows you how to vote and reminds us of the key issues of the period.

We're coming to the end of this year's What's in the !
Our penultimate box 37 yielded spa.si.371. Our photographic archive contains the amazing images used in the Scots Independent newspaper - and even some that were never used in print! They tell sucha a unique story of Scotland and will be full catalogued as part of our ongoing project to open up the Scots Independent archive

We've got more election ephemera for number 8 today.
In a previous box we mentioned that we collect election material from right across Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 but today's box also highlights the variety of parties represented by this type of collecting - it's not all Labour, Conservatives and the SNP! Here's some Unite Against Fascism material from 2019.
