Forestry England has launched a new 🌲🌳 forest resilience strategy to protect woodlands against climate change, pests, diseases, and biodiversity loss.
England's forests currently supply around 40% of the country's domestic timber. Keeping those woodlands healthy is essential for a secure, long-term supply of sustainably sourced wood fuel.
The strategy focuses on assessing resilience locally, diversifying tree species, and using science-led approaches to forest management.

The UK government plans to invest up to £1 billion 💷 in community-owned renewable energy through GB Energy. That includes biomass heating for schools, care homes, leisure centres, and district heating networks.
