This July, a team of friends and colleagues called 'Winnie Gives Us Wings' are taking on The GYRO Cumbria to raise funds for our charity after our team helped save baby Winnie's life.

At just 11 months old, Winnie suffered multiple seizures and had to be put into a medically-induced coma by our doctor and paramedic before being airlfited to hospital for specialist treatment.

She's since been diagnosed with epilepsy but thankfully has not had any further seizures.

Now, her dad and grandad, alongside seven friends have signed up to our cycling event The GYRO and there's still time to buy a place.

This included six in the North East and six in Cumbria.

Here's a breakdown of the incidents:
🚗 Four road traffic collisions
⚠️ Three falls
👊 Three assaults
❤️ One cardiac arrest
🌊 One drowning incident

When someone donates blood, they may never know whose life they've helped save.

But we see the difference it makes.

Every day, blood and plasma are delivered to our bases by the wonderful teams at Northumbria Blood Bikes and Blood Bikes Cumbria, ready for the moments when patients need them most. For someone suffering severe blood loss after a serious injury, those precious supplies can be life-saving.

On Wednesday our critical care team in Cumbria responded to reports of a medical incident in Ennerdale.

We had a paramedic and doctor on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 1.06pm.

Our team assessed and treat a patient before our pilot airlifted them to the valley floor where a land ambulance was waiting.

The patient was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and our team returned back to their base at 2.26pm.
