✨Behind the BID✨

Next up, we are introducing Paul Walmsley, manager of Vision25. Located right on the high street, Vision25 supports young adults with disabilities, empowering these individuals to reach their full potential and build self-worth by focusing on strengths, rather than weaknesses.

🫂Paul cares a lot about bringing the community together. You might have seen our post about Stockton in Bloom; these hanging baskets were designed and planted by the young adults Vision25 supports, allowing them to get their hands dirty and have fun whilst learning about gardening.

🌊Paul was thrilled to visit the riverside urban park during development. BID created an opportunity for levy businesses last year to visit, allowing businesses to ask questions and learn more.

💖One thing Paul loved was the Tall Tales, in partnership with Blind Tiger CIC, Vision 25 signed up for this musical history trail, which engaged their young people with the hidden stories of our high street.

You might notice we’ve got a new defibrillator on the outside wall of KU this week. We’ve had one in the venue for a few years now but we want our neighbours and public to know that it’s now accessible at all hours and not just when our doors are open.

These are some things we hope we’ll never have to make use of but ultimately it could help save someone from serious harm 🤞❤️‍🩹

This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and passion Chloe has shown throughout her apprenticeship. From delivering exceptional client care and customer service, to demonstrating advanced colouring, cutting, styling and professional salon practices, Chloe achieved the highest possible grades in both her practical assessments and professional discussion.

Her assessor praised her for:
⭐ Exceptional attention to detail
⭐ Outstanding professionalism and client care
⭐ Advanced technical skills in colouring, cutting and styling
⭐ Excellent product knowledge and communication skills
⭐ A genuine passion for learning and developing within the industry

Chloe’s commitment to her training, weekly development sessions, product education and continuous improvement has truly paid off. To achieve a Distinction is fantastic – to achieve full marks in every assessed area is an exceptional accomplishment.

As a result, we’re delighted to announce that from July, Chloe will begin her Advanced Hairdressing Qualification and will be promoted to Graduate Stylist. 🎓✨

Watching Chloe grow from apprentice to fully qualified hairdresser has been an absolute pleasure, and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next.

Next up we have Matt Boxall, the centre manager for Wellington Square for the last 6 years. Matt oversees lettings, tenant relationships, and strategic development. Under his leadership, Wellington Square has continued to perform strongly despite wider national challenges.

💖 Matt's a big fan of the people of Town Centre, citing the variety and generosity of the people coming into town as his favourite thing about Stockton.

🛍️Wellington Square has a mixture of well known high street brands and independent shops such as the popular salon and local bakery .

🌈Matt's aim for the square is about creating a space where people feel welcome to spend time, connect with others, and be part of the local community. Shopping centres can be more than retail destinations. At their best, they become places where everyday moments happen and where communities feel connected, and Matt and his team strive to do that with every decision.
