๐ŸŒฟ Carers Week Health Walk โ€“ Stockton Mobile Library Service ๐ŸŒฟ

To mark Carers Week, Stockton Mobile Library Service was delighted to support a special health walk in partnership with the LiveWell Hub in Thornaby.

Participants followed the Stockton Town Centre Heritage Trail, created by the fantastic team at Stockton Reference Library. It was a lovely event, and even a few showers didnโ€™t dampen spirits! โ˜”๏ธ

Along the way, the group explored local landmarks and uncovered some fascinating snippets of history, including learning about Nebo Creams, which sparked plenty of interest and conversation.

After the walk, everyone returned to the library for a well-earned cuppa and a small presentation, where participants received certificates to celebrate their involvement. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ…

It was a wonderful way to bring people together, promote wellbeing, and recognise the vital contribution of unpaid carers in our community.

Carers Week is all about raising awareness, connecting carers with support, and ensuring they feel valued and this event was a great example of that in action.

๐Ÿ’™ A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day so special.

โš  There has been a Yellow Heat-Health Alert issued by the Met Office for the North East - in effect between 22/05/2026 at 2PM and 27/05/2026 at 5PM.

๐ŸŸ โš  Amber heat-health alerts have been issued to the health systems across central England until Wednesday 27 May, with yellow alerts covering the rest of the country.
While hot weather may be welcome for some, it can still have a serious impact on peopleโ€™s health and wellbeing. Early warnings help those in health and social care, as well as anyone supporting more vulnerable individuals, such as older adults and young children, to prepare and take appropriate action.
