Let’s be honest, nobody likes seeing rubbish in our streets and alleyways. We are the only party looking to clean up our town.

We’ve got a straightforward plan to tidy up Mandale and Victoria and make recycling a whole lot easier for everyone.

Here’s the breakdown of what we want to do:
1. Bring back Community Skips for easy cleanups meaning less flytipping across the ward. If we all work together, our area can be transformed for the better.

2. Lower the cost of Bulk Collection so clearing out big items doesn't break the bank. With the cost of living crisis, households are struggling to afford the price set by the council.

3.Re-open local bring sites so you don't have to travel far to recycle. Making the bring sites more local to help recycling efforts.

4.Set up street-based recycling right outside your door. Its unfair that residents need to store waste in their yards or worse still, in the alleyways which attract vermin.

5. Get rid of the outdated Black Bag Zone, its about time residents were treat with a bit of respect and humanity. Storing black bags and piling them up in alleyways is not how we instil pride back into our community.

Let’s work together to make our community cleaner and greener!

What do you think is the biggest waste issue on your street right now? Let us know in the comments!

Stockton Liberal Democrats welcome the Policy Connect report, Earning or Learning: A New Agenda for Youth NEET Reduction, as a crucial call to action to address the structural crisis leaving nearly one million young people without education, employment, or training.

The party endorses the report’s focus on dismantling financial barriers, empowering local authorities, and tackling the mental health crisis to ensure no young person is left behind.

You would think by now and giving much recent history that the Council would know how to correctly live stream a meeting. Today's Cabinet meeting was due to be live streamed, but it seems that no one hit the go live button.

We have been out and about today in the Victoria Estate. Picking up issues as we go along and will log them with the council.

Local Liberal Democrat campaigner and chairman of Stockton Liberal Democrats is today (12 May) challenging Stockton North’s Labour MP, Chris Mcdonald, to publicly withdraw their support for Prime Minister Keir Starmer and back a leadership contest.

After years of Tory failure, sleaze and scandal, people were hopeful things would get better under Labour. But following the Mandelson scandal, people in Stockton have lost all trust in the government and in Keir Starmer.

Now Labour politicians are too busy fighting amongst themselves in Westminster instead of delivering for communities on the cost of living and the NHS.

The Liberal Democrats are urging Chris Mcdonald MP to break their silence, stand up for the people of Stockton, and acknowledge that the country deserves better leadership than this.

Luke John Frost, Stockton Liberal Democrat chairman for Stockton, said: "The cost of living crisis is causing hell for families across our community in Stockton, but this Labour Government is just navel-gazing.

“Enough is enough. Residents in Stockton deserve so much better than this.

“While families struggle to pay their bills and wait months for basic healthcare, the Prime Minister's party is entirely focused on its own survival.

“Chris Mcdonald MP must have the courage to say Starmer must go so the Government can refocus on delivering change and better services for this country.”

Thornaby deserves to feel cared for. We’re pushing for more regular street cleaning, fly-tipping enforcement, and investment in public spaces. Pride in our town starts with the basics, clean, safe streets for everyone.

Your local Liberal Democrats are working all year round to make Thornaby a united, stronger and greener town for all.

Bishop Auckland has the right idea, a central travel hub that keeps people out of the cold and keeps them informed of travel across the area.

Here in Stockton we need a centralised Travel Hub that better connects the town and the region making transport more accessible. There is plenty of brownfield areas that could be utilised, if only the Labour ran Council had a long term vision for the town.
