Teesside Small Gauge Railway

Teesside Small Gauge Railway A 7.25 Inch gauge Miniature Railway. Steam, Electric and Diesel rides to the Public every Sunday from Easter to October, Wednesdays in the school holidays.

The Teesside Small Gauge Railway (TSGR) is primarily a model engineering club devoted to the running, maintaining and development of 7.25" gauge steam locomotives, electric locomotives, petrol locomotives and rolling stock for both club members and passenger running (public). During the running season, Easter until the end of October, we run every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Also, we usually open on bank holidays and selected days in the school holidays.

We are very much hoping to run trains on both Sunday AND Monday this weekend, 1-4pm. However the weather forecast may be against us - we will provide an update here if we have to cancel or cut short running due to rain.

Look out for the yellow signs from the car park (if they're out, we're definitely running!) and listen out for the horns & whistles.

Come and join us tomorrow for the final Wednesday running of the summer! There is currently a ~30% chance of rain all afternoon, but we plan to run 12.30 to 3.30pm if we can. (Will update here if we have to finish early.)

Update: unfortunately due to the rain running is cancelled today. Sorry for any inconvenience. We will try again on Wednesday.

I have been told we have sufficient members to operate trains tomorrow 9th August from 1pm until 4pm ish. So come along and enjoy the thrills with two laps of our well acclaimed track.
Fares are £2 adult and £2 children, those under three travel free.
Look out for our signs around the park and we are located adjacent to the Parks gardens. You should be able the hear the sound of whistles and horns. TSGR

Trains running today 12.30 to 3.30pm! (Although there is a chance of rain, which may scupper plans...)

Find us at the top end of Preston Park, beyond the bandstand - follow the yellow signs from the car park and listen out for the horns/whistles.

£2 each for two laps of our circuit (under 3s are free). We hope to be open every Wednesday until the end of the summer holidays, plus every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday until the end of October - all weather permitting, of course, and assuming we have enough volunteers to run safely.

Trains running 1-4pm in Preston Park on Sunday! £2 each for two laps of our circuit (under 3s are free). We're located at the north end of the park, beyond the bandstand. Follow the yellow signs from the car park and listen out for the horns/whistles.

On Wednesday the large American loco put in a rare appearance on passenger trains - perhaps it will be out again tomorrow after recharging its batteries?
