If you have visited The Hub recently, you may have spotted some brand new faces…

That's because an exciting new programme has arrived, bringing with it a fantastic team of dedicated Employment Specialists who are ready to guide you on your journey towards employment, new skills and brighter opportunities.

If you have a disability, health condition or face complex barriers making it difficult to find, keep, or progress in work, Connect to Work can help. At the heart of the programme is free, personalised one-to-one support from an Employment Specialist. Helping you explore your goals, recognise your strengths and tackle any barriers standing in the way of employment, with tailored support including:

✅ A trusted Employment Specialist working with you one-to-one.
✅ A support plan built around your unique needs and goals.
✅ Help with training, qualifications, or self-employment.
✅ Tools to build confidence and communication.
✅ Support with CVs, applications and interviews.
✅ Links with employers to help match you to the right job.
✅ Advice on benefits.
✅ Connecting you to health or community services.
✅ Ongoing support once you start work, including working with your employer to help you succeed in your role.

Connect to Work is built on the belief that everyone has the potential to access meaningful paid employment with the right support. Your dedicated Employment Specialist will work with you to secure employment as quickly as possible, providing tailored support throughout your job search and continuing to support both you and your employer once you're in work.

The service is available to eligible Tees Valley residents who are disabled, have health conditions, or face complex barriers to employment. It also offers support for people who are already in work but need help to stay there.

With so many people navigating the challenges of balancing health and work, Connect to Work focuses on empowering residents to achieve their employment goals and secure long-term, fulfilling careers.

🍃INTRODUCING - YGT RENEWABLE ENERGY!🍃

This week has seen our very first, dedicated Renewable Energy Youth Guarantee Trailblazer training programme, and what a week!

We've had an incredible group of enthusiastic participants who have fully embraced every opportunity, got involved in a range of activities, connected with industry professionals, and gained valuable insight into the renewable energy sector.

A huge thank you to our employers who supported this week's programme, this included:

✅ Meet the Mentors with Tricore Services, Harlum Services, RelyOn Nutec and Nordic Engineering.
✅ UK STEM Supergrid Session, where participants developed their understanding of the wind industry, designing and launching their own wind-powered energy systems.
✅ Visit to RelyOn Nutec, where the group explored careers in the wind and offshore sectors, toured the training facilities, and even climbed inside a wind turbine to see first-hand how the industry operates, wow!

A standout this week has been the commitment and passion shown by everyone involved. We've seen participants staying behind to discuss career options, challenging themselves, and making the most of every opportunity presented 👏

We're now looking ahead to next Tuesday's Assessment Day, where participants will be considered for a variety of 5-month placement opportunities, including:

🍃 Hanger Operative.
🍃 Cable Assistant / Cable Mate.
🍃 Workshop Technician.
🍃 IT Support & IT Assistant.
🍃 Lab Technician.
🍃 Administration Support.

The future of the renewable energy sector is looking bright, and it's amazing to see so many motivated young people taking their first steps towards exciting careers in the industry. We can’t wait to see these placements flourish!💡
