on Monday 22nd Sept in the village hall the Parish Council will be having a meeting to rollout the Neighbourhood Plan.

This meeting is to share the plan with the parishioners of Stoke Gabriel and hopefully get your feedback.

It's important that we get this Plan up and running ASAP. It could potentially have a lasting effect for generations to come so it's really important that people are aware of the Neighbourhood Plan and participation would be great..

Hi Everyone,

With this wonderful weather we are having things are a little dry.
So with that in mind we are requesting that if you do visit Hoyle Copse please don't light fires or have BBQ's for now. Thank you so much.

Hi All,

The road sweeper is coming on Wed 18th June, and it would be good if as many residents as is possible can remove their vehicles off the streets for that day. No big deal if you can't.

We have also arranged for the roads to be swept just before the 50th Carnival, (which should be amazing this year !!!) I'll send that date out when we get it.

Thank you :)

On Monday evening the 19th we had our annual "Parish Meeting" not to be confused with the "Parish Council Meeting", this meeting was for all Clubs, Societies and Associations in Stoke Gabriel, 25 in total. It was a marvellous evening, definitely one for the calendar next year. It is amazing what goes on in our small village.
If you didn't go you missed out that's for sure !!!!
We'd just like to thank everyone who came along to support our fab village and to all the speakers, another amazing year had by everyone. Well Done!!! 😃

Stoke Gabriel Community Speed Watch.

One of the major concerns identified by Residents to The Parish Council is the speed of vehicles travelling through the village who are failing to recognise the 20mph and 30mph speed limits. We have a very limited number of footpaths adjoining the public highway and there have been several "near misses" with pedestrians walking at the side of the road. To try and avoid further incidents and injuries The Parish Council are in the process of setting up a Community Speed Watch Group, (CSWG), which residents in the Parish are invited to join.

To become a Member, you will need to complete a mandatory training course, watching short videos and answering various questions. You will need to pass the course to be officially recognised as a trained Member of the Group.

The Group will operate in various locations throughout the village approved by The Police and in all weather conditions. The Police will provide training on the equipment. The Group will merely record the speed of vehicles passing the check point and any over the limit at that particular point will have their details sent to Devon and Cornwall Police for them to decide whether further action is to be taken. Full details of the Community Speed Watch programme can be found on the following web site.

www.communityspeedwatch.org

Any resident who wishes to participate in this community scheme is asked to contact the Parish Clerk as follows who can provide further information about the application process

[email protected]

: Speeding has reached epidemic proportions and calls for a paradigm shift in the way we tackle it. That shift must include a change in the perception and management of community volunteers involvement with road safety. https://web2.communityspeedwatch.org/FRONT-v2-The_Scheme.php...

Hello Neighbours,
Have you ever thought you would like to honour a loved one with a bench located in our lovely village?
Well, we at the Parish Council are in the process of replacing two benches. One in Duncannon Lane at the entrance to Duncannon Field and the other in the Playground area in the orchard.
If you are interested please drop me a message.
