As part of the monthly Parish Council meeting:

Cllr. David Thomas Leader of Torbay Council is coming to speak about the Local Government Reorganisation, and what the implications might be to the Parish of Stoke Gabriel.

The meeting will be held in the Village hall at 19:00 on Monday 27th July.

All Parishioners are Welcome to attend.

A meeting of Stoke Gabriel Parish Council will be held on Monday 27th April 2026 at 7p.m.in The Village Hall, Stoke Gabriel.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
AGENDA.
01.Apologies.
To receive and approve apologies for absence.
02.Declarations of interests.
03.To approve any dispensation requests.
The Council will adjourn from the business.
Public Participation. A period of 10 minutes is allowed for members of the public to ask questions or make comment regarding the work of the council or items on the agenda.
04.District and County Cllr. Reports.
The council will reconvene to conduct the following business.
05.Minutes of the previous meeting. To receive and consider, amend if necessary and approve the minutes of the Meeting held on Monday 24th November 2025.
06.Matters arising from previous Meeting Minutes.
07.To receive an update on the proposed new allotment site.
08.To receive any update on the V.A.R. electronic sign for the entrance to the village.
09.To consider the future of the parish gazebos
10.Financial Matters.
10a) To receive a report of payments made and received during April 2026 to date. These will have been circulated to members.
11.to consider the application to S.H.D.C. for S106 monies for the Cricket Club Building extension.
12.Clerks report.
13.Planning Matters.
To receive recommendations of the Planning Working Group held earlier in the evening.
14. To finalize arrangements for the Annual Parish Meeting to be held on Monday 18th May 2026.
15. Date of next Parish Council Meeting Tuesday 26th May 2026.This will follow the Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council. (Monday is a Bank Holiday.)

Dear All,

Over the past few years we have had some fabulous Annual Parish Meetings, we at the parish council can only hope that this trend continues.

The meeting will take place on Monday 18th May 2026 at The Village Hall, Stoke Gabriel at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served from 6.30 p.m.

This is your Annual Parish Meeting when "all the clubs and organisations" are invited to come along and give us an update about themselves, their achievements over the past year and their future plans for the coming year.

The Guest Speaker will be Susie Colley from The Torbay Heart Campaign to Save Torbay Hospital Heart Department.

The Parish Council look forward to seeing you there.

We are pleased to let you know your Let’s Talk team have a busy year planned and we would be really grateful if you could share the information below with as many of your contacts as possible.

We are starting with our new Let’s Talk Teenagers sessions. These are online sessions that are FREE and aimed at parents and carers of teenagers. It is an opportunity to hear about the challenges young people are facing today and what you can do to support them.

We will also be launching a new website at the end of the month which will have access to all the information we give in our sessions along with recordings and bitesize clips. In June/July we will be running sessions for parents and carers of primary aged children and for parents and carers of pre-teens and we will keep you informed of these events.

Hi Everyone,

With this wonderful weather we are having things are a little dry.
So with that in mind we are requesting that if you do visit Hoyle Copse please don't light fires or have BBQ's for now. Thank you so much.

Hi All,

The road sweeper is coming on Wed 18th June, and it would be good if as many residents as is possible can remove their vehicles off the streets for that day. No big deal if you can't.

We have also arranged for the roads to be swept just before the 50th Carnival, (which should be amazing this year !!!) I'll send that date out when we get it.

On Monday evening the 19th we had our annual "Parish Meeting" not to be confused with the "Parish Council Meeting", this meeting was for all Clubs, Societies and Associations in Stoke Gabriel, 25 in total. It was a marvellous evening, definitely one for the calendar next year. It is amazing what goes on in our small village.
If you didn't go you missed out that's for sure !!!!
We'd just like to thank everyone who came along to support our fab village and to all the speakers, another amazing year had by everyone. Well Done!!! 😃
