We are a spaniel rescue charity based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. Please visit our webpage for our available dogs. Registered Charity Number 1137589

We are a small group of Cocker and English Springer Spaniel enthusiasts, who, with a small band of volunteers raise funds to help us find new “forever” homes for dogs placed in our care. We aim to care for and re-home as many un-wanted, stray or neglected Spaniels as we can as well as proving advice and support to current owners.

🐾 BESS UPDATE – WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES 💛 🐾

It’s now been over a year since beautiful Bess went into her long-term foster home with CAESSR… and what a difference that year has made. 🥹

Bess came into our care at 11 years old, having spent her life being used for breeding and receiving poor nutrition. She was incredibly unhappy in kennels, and we quickly knew that a foster home was a must. 💔

Once settled into foster care, Bess was sadly diagnosed with mammary cancer. Thanks to the incredible generosity of CAESSR supporters, funds were raised to enable Bess to undergo the surgery she needed — which, thankfully, was successful. ❤️

Fast forward to today and Bess is now 12 years young and absolutely loving life!

Don’t let her age fool you — Bess is still an incredibly active girl and, given the choice, would happily be on the go all day. There is just one slight obsession…

🎾 BALL IS LIFE! 🎾

Unfortunately, after years of poor nutrition and now being in her senior years, Bess’s joints can often cause her problems. Her enthusiasm certainly hasn’t got the memo that she’s 12, but sometimes her body needs a little extra help to keep up!

Her foster family introduced Pawable Collar-Gen as part of her daily routine to help support her joints and keep her enjoying the walks, playtime and adventures she loves.

A huge thank you to Pawable for kindly donating Bess’s Collar-Gen and helping us support this very special golden oldie. 💛🐾

Bess’s story is a wonderful reminder of what foster homes, generous supporters and a whole lot of love can achieve.

After spending so much of her life having puppies, Bess finally gets to spend her days doing exactly what makes her happy — and, unsurprisingly, that usually involves a ball. ❤️🎾

🚨 APPLICATIONS FOR LUNA ARE NOW ON HOLD 🚨

Wow… you’ve all gone a little Luna-tic for Luna! 🤎🐾

We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the number of applications for our lovely girl, so we’re pausing any new applications while we carefully work through those already received.

Thank you so much to everyone who has offered Luna a home. 💕

⭐️ APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY ON HOLD ⭐️

🌙 LUNA IS LOOKING FOR LOVE 🌙

Every night 4-year-old Luna goes back to her kennel, still waiting for someone to choose her. 💔

Behind the brave little exterior is a sweet, independent, ball-obsessed, pint-sized Springer who really doesn’t ask for much. Give her a tennis ball, plenty of outdoor time and a little patience, and she’s at her happiest. 🎾🤎

Luna needs an adult-only home with someone experienced with nervous dogs, ideally with other steady dogs to help take the pressure off her. She won’t fall in love overnight — Luna’s love has to be earned — but once she decides you’re safe enough to let in, we think it will be incredibly special. ❤️

She’s happy being left for a while, doesn’t demand constant attention and is happiest simply being outside playing fetch.

We only want to move Luna once. Her next home needs to have every chance of becoming her forever home, which is why a foster-to-adopt arrangement would be ideal. It gives Luna the time she needs to settle and her new family the reassurance of getting to know her properly, with our support.

Please don’t let Luna become the dog everyone scrolls past because she’s “still there.” 💔

⭐️The beautiful Luna is looking for a foster, or foster to adopt home⭐️

This gives both her and her new family a chance to get to know each other before signing on the dotted line and works really well for our super spaniels who require a little extra time and space to shine.

❤️ Meet Luna ❤️

🐾 Beautiful Luna is a 4-year-old Springer Spaniel looking for a very special home.

💔 Luna came into our care through no fault of her own after changes in her owners’ working patterns meant she was spending too much time alone.

As a puppy, Luna had a metal gate fall on her, leaving her worried about unfamiliar people handling her. When she’s frightened, she may scream or air snap - not out of aggression, but because she’s saying, “I’m scared.”

❤️ The lovely news is that Luna has already shown us she can learn to trust. With time, patience and consistency, our kennel staff and volunteers have built a wonderful bond with her. She now happily has her lead and harness put on, enjoys being brushed, and accepts fuss from the people she knows.

🪵 Want to see Luna’s true personality? Throw her a stick! ❤️ Retrieving is her absolute favourite thing, and the moment a stick comes out, her tail starts wagging. It’s the quickest way to win her heart.

🏡 Luna is looking for an adult-only home with someone who understands sensitive dogs and is happy to let her build trust at her own pace. She’d love a secure garden, plenty of outdoor adventures and, of course, an endless supply of sticks!

🐶 She can live with another dog following careful introductions (no entire males).

🩺 She finds vet visits stressful, so her vet has recommended anti-anxiety medication for future appointments.

✅ Fully vaccinated
✅ Flea and worm treatment up to date
✅ Unspayed (will be rehomed with a spay contract, with timing guided by veterinary advice)

🤍 We’d love potential adopters to come and meet Luna first. She isn’t looking for someone to rescue her - she’s looking for someone willing to earn her trust.

💙 A wonderful update on Wesley… 🐾

It has now been just over a year since the gorgeous Wesley found his forever home, and what a journey it has been! ❤️

Wesley has settled beautifully into family life and couldn’t be more loved. While he is still a little nervous around unfamiliar dogs and people, he has the perfect companion by his side. His best friend, Cassie, is always there to give him confidence and reassurance when they’re out and about.

Over the past year, his family have loved getting to know his personality, discovering what makes him happy, and introducing him to new experiences at his own pace.

One thing is for certain… Wesley absolutely adores his toys! 🧸 He takes such good care of them that they still look as good as new.

He’s also discovered a love for swimming! 🌊 Although the waves are still a little too much for him, he happily splashes and swims in sheltered rock pools, making the most of every adventure.

We’re also delighted to share a video of Wesley enjoying his all-time favourite toy… Rock Lobster! 🦞💙

Thank you to Wesley’s wonderful family for keeping in touch. Seeing updates like these reminds us exactly why rescue is so worthwhile. Wishing Wesley many more years of love, happiness and adventures. 🐾❤️
