Tomorrow, Sun 29 Dec 24, we'll be supporting the annual raising of the flag of the State of Texas at the flagpole at the top of the High Street. Please gather at about 1145 for the ceremony which will take place at High Noon (of course!).

Stone is the sister city of Carthage in Texas and we are, therefore, honorary Texans. That is on account of the friendship shown by the people of Stone to the hundreds of thousands of American flyers who passed through Yarnfield between 1942 and 1945.

29 Dec is the anniversary of Texas being admitted to the Union in 1845.

We'll be meetk again on Sat 1 Mar 25 to commemorate the anniversary of Texas winning its independence from Mexico in 1836.. Remember the Alamo!

Our next meeting will be on Mon 13 Aug 24 starting at 1900 hrs in the Crown Wharf (as usual). We'll be considering arrangements for our street collect on Sat 7 Sep in Stone High St (we've received the necessary licence) and for Battle of Britain Sunday on 15 Sep in Stafford - plus a catch-up over a beer!

We had a very quiet meeting last Monday but we look forward to having as many on parade as possible for Civic Sunday on 14 July. Please assemble in Station Road at 10.15 am (1015 local time). Rally round our Standard which will be in the safest of hands, Stef Amison! The next event is the TSW RAFA Open Day on Tuesday 23 July at Beacon Barracks (MoD Stafford) starting at 1330 local time; please let me know if you intend to be there.

We had a well-focused, enjoyable and productive AGM last week and a copy of the draft minutes has been set to all members. Our next monthly meeting will be on Mon 11 Mar 24 at our usual venue, the Crown Wharf.
