Great to train with one of our flank stations yesterday. Joint training exercises are invaluable, as we can be tasked to the same incidents that require us to be able to work together for a successful outcome. Huge thank you to the volunteer crew at RNLI Montrose.

Two of RNLI Stonehaven female voluteer crew were lucky enough to to be selected to attend this year's Women in Search and Rescue weekend. The second of its kind to be held in Scotland.

Hosted by RNLI Dunbar Lifeboats and Eyemouth Lifeboat Station and independent St Abbs Lifeboat this year. The WiSAR event is an opportunity for female volunteers within the sector to come together to exchange experiences and knowledge, participate in practical exercises and theory workshops and develop a supportive community.

We're open! Come down and take a tour of the new station building, get a look at our Atlantic 85, speak to the volunteers, maybe have a coffee and a bite to eat and you can always pop into the shop.

STONEHAVEN RNLI OPEN DAY

SUNDAY 20th SEPT 11am to 3pm.

We are holding an Open Day to celebrate our first year of operations in our new station building.This year it coincides with the Doors Open weekend.

Come down and get a look at the new station, walk around our Atlantic 85 which will be on the pier and visit our RNLI shop.

Crew will be available to ask questions of and there will be various activities for the kids, a tombola and raffle. Teas, coffees and traybakes will be provided by our Fundraisers in the boat hall, and burgers and hotdogs outside.

Tours of the station house itself will be run every half hour from 11am.

We look forward to welcoming you this Sunday 😊

Please note the station is only open on the Sunday and NOT on Saturday as published in the P&J.

A rare crew night out for RNLI Stonehaven to celebrate some well deserved awards.

RNLI Excellence in Volunteering Awards for :
Peter Esson, station LOM, shore crew & tractor driver, who puts hours into the running of the station and saw us through the move into our new station building.
Caroline Tierney, boat crew and station admin who not only deals with all the station admin but recently passed out as Tier 2 boat crew.
Gav Forsyth, shore crew, tractor driver, boat mechanic and DLA, who keeps so much at the station running smoothly.

Mike Reading, recieved his ten year service award.

Certificates and gifts of thanks to:
Andy Martin, for his time as boat crew for over 10 years, helm and LOM, who saw us through the new station build.
Richard Hampson, for his time as boat crew for over 10 years.
Mike Black, for his time boat crew and boat mechanic.

And special thanks to Lucy Black for her time as station Families Officer.

A terrific opportunity to get together, and catch up with some former volunteer crew. All over a delicious meal at Carron to Mumbai.

At around 14.20 this afternoon Stonehaven RNLI was tasked by HMCoastguard to a yacht in difficulty just south east of Stonehaven.

On arrival it was found that the yacht's prop was fouled in creel line. The decision was taken to tow her back to Stonehaven harbour.

Great to have local fire fighters from Stonehaven and Inverbervie using our station building for their search exercise training this week. Some of our volunteer crew even posed as casualties to be rescued from inside a building where there had been an explosion.

Always good to work with our fellow reacue services.
