🌳 ARB SHOW IS BACK FOR 2027!

We're excited to announce that ARB Show returns to Westonbirt on Friday 21 – Saturday 22 May 2027, with a refreshed format and exciting new opportunities for the arboricultural community!

We're developing plans for more hands-on technical experiences, practical demonstrations, new exhibitor options, entertainment and plenty of opportunities to get involved.

ARB Show will also move to a biennial format, giving us more time to develop the event and invest in projects that support the profession between shows. And we want you to help shape its future!

Rope art for a great cause! 🌳🪢

Chris Wyatt, .42 on Instagram, has created Project Iconic, a series of handcrafted rope art sculptures of some of the most recognisable kit in climbing and arb.

Over the years Chris has made rope art awards for our climbing competitions, and every one has been incredible.

The sculptures:

🟢 DMM Hitch Climber system
🔴 ISC Rope Wrench
⚫ NOTCH Rope Runner

Tickets are £5 each, and all proceeds go to the Air Ambulance Service. The raffle closes 31st October.

Huge Congratulations to Jo, Sarah Ann and Mike🌳

Fantastic news for our UK & Ireland team at the 2026 International Tree Climbing Championship. After a brilliant Masters’ Challenge final, we have a champion and two more podium finishes!

🏆 Jo Hedger is the 2026 Masters’ Challenge Champion in the women’s division. Taking her 7th title!
🥈 Sarah Ann Quinlan finished 2nd in the women’s division.
🥈 Mike Curwen secured 2nd place in the men’s division.

Be counted – take part in the Forestry Workforce Census

Forest Research, on behalf of the Forestry Commission, Scottish Forestry, and Welsh Government, is launching the Forestry Workforce Census. It aims to better understand what the forestry operations workforce in Great Britain looks like today.

The Census will capture the size of the workforce and the scale of forestry operations taking place, providing vital evidence to support the future of the sector.

Organisations across the forestry sector in Great Britain are being asked to submit information about their workforce on two separate dates to account for roles that are seasonal – 1 October 2026 and 1 March 2027. Every organisation, from those with just one person to larger companies with many people and sub-organisations, whether employed and/or contracted, are invited to take part.
