Last week, the team at Stornoway Airport hosted a visit from Dr Andy Kerr, Director General Net Zero, taking a tour of the Air Traffic Control Tower, the Airport Fire Station and to view the area where coastal defence works took place in 2022-2023.

Disability Equality Scotland is running five online engagement events on behalf of Transport Scotland as they develop the successor to the Accessible Travel Framework.

We held our first Run the Runway event on Saturday 18 April. A huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part - we saw 380 people take on the 5km route around the runway.

So far over £7,400 has been raised for the Lewis & Harris Macmillan Cancer Support Group. Participants ranged from babies in buggies to a runner in their eighties, with a mix of walkers, wheelchair users and runners.

Macmillan held a raffle on the day and the team at the airport were on hand to support throughout, including helping with parking, marshalling and tail walking. There was even a piper to lead the participants from the terminal to the start line.
