📚Stornoway Library reopens today!

Sorry we are not able to open the new Children’s Library on the first floor yet. We are waiting for some final building checks before we can welcome visitors.

In the meantime we have created a temporary pop-up children’s section downstairs while we wait.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back today!

📚 Stornoway Library reopens Tuesday 13 October!

We’ve been busy this week setting up our new spaces and can’t wait to welcome you. Staff celebrated Wee Read on October 7 by putting our new reading nooks to the test! Can you spot some of the amazing furniture in our new Children’s Library? 📖

Our Adult and Teen collections remain on the ground floor and we have expanded Local History and Gaelic, creating more areas for reading, work, study and research.

Now for the tough news: Our new Children’s Library is ready on the second floor but unfortunately we have to wait for some final building checks before we can welcome visitors.

We have created a temporary pop-up children’s section downstairs while we wait.

Thank you for your patience while we refresh our lovely library. We look forward to welcoming everyone back this week and can’t wait to open the Children’s Library very soon! 💚
