Please join us in welcoming Manvir to the Stotfold Town Council team!

If you have visited us at the Town Council offices at the Greenacre Centre recently, you could well have already met Manvir, our new Business Admin Apprentice.

Manvir joined us last month after we bid farewell to Katie, who completed her Apprenticeship with us and moved on to a fantastic opportunity elsewhere within the county.

Manvir previously worked within his family business and is excited to learn new skills as he settles in to his new role.

We are sure you will join us in welcoming Manvir to Stotfold.

Welcoming St Mary's School Choir to Stotfest 2026!

In a slight variation to our main stage schedule printed in this month's Stotfold News Magazine, we are hugely delighted to welcome St Mary's School choir to the stage at 11.15am (instead of the previously advertised Jam Busters who sadly are now unable to join us.)

We are so thankful to the wonderful children of St Mary's School for stepping in to this time slot - We have heard they are furiously practicing, in order to bring you an amazing performance!

St Mary's School Choir are the very first act of the day on stage at 11.15am so we would love it if we could encourage as many people as possible to get down early to support them all!!

You can see them on the Stotfest Stage at 11.15am - Saturday 27th June, Arlesey Road Recreation Ground!

As part of National Volunteering week we thought we’d take this opportunity to remind you about The Haven.

The Haven is Stotfold’s cherished community garden. It is designed to provide a tranquil space where residents can relax, unwind, and connect with nature.

Situated in the heart of Stotfold, The Haven includes beautifully tended flower beds, comfortable seating areas and diverse plant life. You’ll often find seasonally-grown vegetables available to be picked when ripe by residents. We encourage you to help yourself, but only take what you need and ensure you leave enough for others to enjoy too.

This special space and idea was developed to promote mental well-being, community involvement, and environmental awareness. It’s maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers who lovingly care for the gardens throughout the year.
We welcome everyone, from experienced gardeners to beginners, to join our community garden projects and enjoy this environment. Whether you wish to spend a quiet moment among nature, right in the middle of Stotfold, or participate in community gardening activities, The Haven is open to all.

To find out more about getting involved with our community garden and helping to keep it well maintained, why not volunteer with our community garden group?

We’d like to introduce you to Shadowplay!

Shadowplay are a high-energy indie rock covers band bringing big tunes, big vibes, and packed dancefloors wherever they play. You can see them live on stage at Stotfest 2026, Saturday 27th June - Arlesey Road Recreation Ground.

Sets full of absolute crowd-pleasers from bands like The Killers, Green Day, Oasis, Pulp, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and more – proper anthems people know, love, and sing at the top of their lungs.

They’re a fun, lively, party-starting band who don’t just play music – they create an atmosphere. Think jumping crowds, full dancefloors, and a buzzing field from first song to last.

We’re excited to welcome these guys to the stage for another great Stotfest event in just under 4 weeks time and we look forward seeing you all there!

This week is National Volunteers Week.

We are so fortunate to have a whole host of volunteers who regularly show up to lend their time to us for various activities.

Next week is our scheduled Cemetery tidy up week and if you’ve never volunteered with us before, what better time than then to join us as we tidy up our wonderful Cemetery grounds.

This month, we will be concentrating on the lower garden of rest.

If you’d like to join us, please meet us just before 2pm outside the cemetery chapel. We look forward to seeing you there!

A reminder to all Central residents that the Local Plan scoping consultation is now open.

In 2024, residents were asked what was important to them in making somewhere a great place to live and what should be included in the new Local Plan.

This consultation is a chance to speak about whether those issues and priorities are still the right ones as Central Bedfordshire Council develop the plan.

The Local Plan will guide how Central Bedfordshire grows up to 2050, including the homes, jobs, and infrastructure we need, while helping to protect our communities and environment.
