🌟 Two Fantastic Weeks at Stow Primary! 🌟

We’ve had two busy weeks full of learning, celebration and exciting opportunities!

🏆 We have loved celebrating our learners’ achievements and successes, recognising the hard work, determination and talents of our pupils both in and out of school. From classroom successes to wider achievements, our learners continue to demonstrate what it means to be Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors and Responsible Citizens.

🤝 One of the highlights of the fortnight was our Transition Afternoon, where pupils had the opportunity to meet their new teachers and spend time with their classmates for next session. It was wonderful to see everyone embracing change with enthusiasm and excitement as we prepare for another successful year ahead.

👏 A huge well done to all our pupils for their positivity, resilience and continued efforts. We are so proud of everything you achieve and look forward to the exciting weeks still to come!

🚴‍♀️The Just Cycle Schools CS Competition 2026 🚴

We are delighted to bring back our Just Cycle Schools CS Competition for 2026! What originally started as an Earlston cluster competition two years ago, is now being opened up to the wider Borders for 2026, due to the expansion of opportunities to try the sport in various other youth groups and community settings!

It is essential that everyone involved can ride safely together in this competition, therefore pupils must have previous experience to take part – this isn’t for first timers!

Format
• This will be an individual rider competition
• Riders will compete in age category heats: P2-4 and P5-7
• Each heat will comprise of three laps and each rider will compete in four heats
• Points scored will decide the individual rankings
• Prizes for overall first, second and third place girl/boy finishers in each category
• Participation certificates for all competitors

• Riders must wear a well-fitting cycle helmet, long-sleeved top, full length leggings and full finger gloves. Trainers are the perfect footwear, velcro fastenings preferred or laces tied up short.
• Purpose-built bikes are provided, but please bring a helmet if you have one.

🌟 Another Wonderful Week at Stow Primary! 🌟

This week was packed with exciting opportunities, achievements and celebrations!

💡 On Wednesday, our P6 learners took part in the Inspire Day, joining pupils from schools across the Scottish Borders. They enjoyed a range of engaging activities, developed new skills, and worked alongside learners from other schools in a fantastic day of collaboration and learning.

🎶 We were also incredibly proud of the pupils who represented Stow Primary at the Braw Lads Concert in Galashiels. They performed with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing their talents and representing our school so well.

🏆 As always, we took time to celebrate our successes in learning and recognise a range of wider achievements, highlighting the hard work, determination and talents of our learners both in and out of school.

It has been another week full of opportunities, achievement and pride in being part of Team Stow! 💙

Gala Fairydean Rovers FC Community Trust is delighted to help organise the 5-a-side football competition as part of Braw Lads Gathering Sports Day.

Date: Sunday 21st June 2026
Times: 10am - 1pm
Where: Netherdale 3G Pitches

Age Groups: P4/5 & P6/7

Squad Size: 5-10 players
Boys & Girls Teams Welcome

Cost: £10 per squad (Payable on day)

Squads will require one responsible adult to accompany them and we will operate a round robin format to maximise playing opportunities for everyone.

Closing date to register Saturday 14th June.
