Over a hectare of our land, located by the River Waveney in Palgrave, has been protected from development and will see important nature enhancements to create a haven for plants and wildlife 🌳

It could also see a new informal circular path introduced encouraging people to get outdoors and connect with nature

We bought the site in 2024, and have now teamed up with the River Waveney Trust to oversee its restoration and management

👩‍🏫Earlier this month, our waste education officer, Sam, visited pupils at Rattlesden and Wetheringsett Primary Schools (pictured) to deliver sessions and activities focused on the Better Recycling changes and the impacts of plastic waste ♻️

They covered:
- the bin system, what goes in each bin and why it's changing
- where food waste will go and why it's better for the planet
- crafted Brilliant Blue eco-heroes from recyclable waste (which you can find on display at Suffolk Recycles's Suffolk Show (Official) stand this week)

Two pupils were so inspired they arranged to do two litter picks with their grandad outside of school

One of the teachers, said: "The children and staff all learnt a lot and enjoyed being able to see what happens to all of our waste."

👩‍🏫♻️ Could your child’s school benefit from a free visit or workshop from our waste team - themed around recycling, reducing food waste or other topics?
