Monday’s drill night saw the crew head to the recreation ground in stowmarket to place a recruitment poster.
While there it seemed fitting to test our hoses, ground monitor and water curtain.
This was gratefully received by the local dogs 🐕

It’s been a busy few months for stowmarket fire station. We have now had 100 shouts for the year so far.

The fire service is aware of the fire on Haughley Road in Harleston and there is no need to call 999 to report it.

Thank you to those members of the public who have already contacted us. We appreciate people being vigilant and raising concerns.

We have been actively managing the muck heap fire at this location for the past couple of days. Due to the nature of the material involved, it is likely to continue smouldering on and off for some time.

However, the fire is under control.

The landowner is in contact with the fire service and will notify us directly should the situation change or require further attendance.

This morning the crew were out in the community litter picking. They stopped off at the recreation ground, pikes meadow and cedars park. It’s great to get out in the community and meet people and collect some rubbish at the same time.
