Farming is the backbone of Dumfries & Galloway. Around 1 in 7 local jobs are linked to agriculture, forestry and fishing, so when farming struggles, our whole rural economy feels it.

Restore Britain is backing our farmers with practical policies: scrapping inheritance tax on farms, cutting red tape, protecting family farms, making food security a national priority, and putting British farmers first.

If farming thrives, Dumfries & Galloway thrives.

Work should always pay.

Millions of parents get up every morning, go to work, pay their taxes and juggle childcare costs. They deserve support.

If Labour and the SNP plan to extend free childcare to families not in work, it’s fair to ask:

Where’s the incentive to take a job? And who picks up the bill?

Hardworking taxpayers deserve a system that rewards work, helps people into employment, and spends public money responsibly.

Restore Britain would ban non-stun slaughter, including meat produced through Halal and Kosher methods.

Stunning renders animals unconscious before slaughter, helping to reduce pain and distress.

If animal welfare is important to you, look for meat carrying the RSPCA Assured or Red Tractor labels, which are associated with higher welfare standards.

Consumers can also choose retailers that state their meat comes from animals that were stunned before slaughter. At the time of writing, Lidl, Aldi and M&S have policies stating that the meat they sell is from animals that have been pre-stunned.

Whatever your views on religion or tradition, animal welfare should remain a priority, and we as consumers deserve clear information about how our food is produced.

A r**e gang is a r**e gang. They will all receive the same treatment under a Restore Britain government.

| A total of 13 men will go on trial in September charged as part of a complex GMP investigation into alleged drug-facilitated sexual abuse.

A man in his 60s, from Stockport, is accused of conspiring with others to drug his wife and r**e her while she was unconscious.

He cannot be named to ensure the anonymity of his wife is protected by law. We are working with specialist partners to provide her with support.

There’s a clear theme emerging with the candidates standing for Restore Britain.

Take Rebecca in Makerfield — a local person standing up for local issues. Or Marlon, now standing for Mayor in Manchester — a local man representing local people and their concerns.

These aren’t career politicians or failed MPs trying to hold onto salaries and perks. These are real people, stepping forward to represent real communities.

That’s the kind of politics many of us have been waiting for.
