A little more of an update on Project Defib 2. The observant may have noticed that the old bus shelter opposite Wrackle Close has now been removed. This is part of the enabling works to install a second defibrillator unit in the Village. It was also in imminent danger of collapse.
The project has been lead by the Heart of our Community, supported by (and part funded by) the Parish Council. It was first mooted a year ago and has been the subject of extensive discussions (including in public Council Meetings) since then. The only feasible location was the old bus stop.
Our intent was to notify neighbours prior to the intended works - but the contractors turned up earlier than expected. Please accept our apologies & thanks for bearing with any disruption.
Once the overgrowth has been cleared to open out the site we will be able to install the new solar powered defibrillator in 5-6 weeks time.
If anyone would like any more information please contact either a Parish Councillor or a member of THOC.

The observant may have noticed a new sign on the bin by the bus stop on Dorchester Road/Manor Close. We've put this up in response to requests by neighbours & users of the bus shelter. As we (hopefully) move into the warmer months even bagged dog poo gets pretty unpleasant. It would be appreciated if dog owners could use the bins on the green or the one by the field - thank you for continuing to be responsible & considerate.

Just been out with the dog. There are stop go boards for the bridge by Ash Hill. It takes a while but is passable. Then there’s then a huge queue from Weirs roundabout back to Wrackleford due to further flooding as the road into Dorchester has been closed. Couldn’t see whether you can actually get to Dorchester or not that way. A few folks have reported getting told off for walking back along the A37 having abandoned vehicles in town. It does though look like the peak is moving through as the pavement wasn’t under water by the bridge.
