The observant may have noticed a new sign on the bin by the bus stop on Dorchester Road/Manor Close. We've put this up in response to requests by neighbours & users of the bus shelter. As we (hopefully) move into the warmer months even bagged dog poo gets pretty unpleasant. It would be appreciated if dog owners could use the bins on the green or the one by the field - thank you for continuing to be responsible & considerate.

Just been out with the dog. There are stop go boards for the bridge by Ash Hill. It takes a while but is passable. Then there’s then a huge queue from Weirs roundabout back to Wrackleford due to further flooding as the road into Dorchester has been closed. Couldn’t see whether you can actually get to Dorchester or not that way. A few folks have reported getting told off for walking back along the A37 having abandoned vehicles in town. It does though look like the peak is moving through as the pavement wasn’t under water by the bridge.

Advance warning from Dorset Highways. The pedestrian safety improvement works on the A37 are scheduled to commence on 1 December for a period of five days.
The Dorchester bound carriageway between Stratton & Ash Hill will be closed. Four way lights will be in place (location below).

The Parish Council and the wider community are very grateful to the people who regularly volunteer to help keep our Village looking lovely. Those who paint bus stops, maintain benches, decorate the phone-box etc. But, we are usually reliant upon the same people. If you think you could spare a little time to help out, please get in touch & give us an idea of what you might be prepared to do. No commitment - we'd just like to hear from you!

Soooo, you may have noticed that the completion of the new surface in the village green play area didn’t happen as planned this weekend. The weather last week put the contractors behind schedule. Hopefully, will be done this week.

Exciting progress with the new play equipment on the Village Green. The weather has not helped though so the play area will be closed all this week.
All being well Stratton, Dorset, Community Group should have our new facility by 8 September. Thanks everyone for your patience.
