Woodland Explorers in the October Holidays 2026 was in Michaelswood this morning for our first spooky session! Thank you to Ray and Betty Ferrie for hosting us!

We had 170 people join us for the Neepy Nature Trail to detect bats, create a woodland potion, make bark rubbings, tune in to our senses, craft some pipecleaner spiders and learn about nature!

RSPB Shetland Woodland Explorer sessions are designed for families to connect with each other whilst connecting with nature.

Our next session is on Thursday 22nd October from 10am -12pm in Voxter trees, where we will have a creepy crawly hunt, nature truth-or-dare and more creepy crafts! 🕷️

Come along to Islesburgh Community Centre in Lerwick between 6.30-8.30pm this evening for a chat about nature-friendly crofting and meet visiting partners from Scottish Crofting Federation, Nature Friendly Farming Network and Pasture for Life.
