Nobwle National Chapter

Nobwle National Chapter Alexander, Corporal with the Prince Georges County Police Department. Thus the development of NOBWLE.

The National Organization of Black Women in Law Enforcement (NOBWLE), was founded by Gladys Jones, Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co and Fi****ms, on March 22, 1985. Special Agent Jones was supported in this effort by co-founders, Lenora Alston, Fi****ms and Explosive Specialist with the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co and Fi****ms; Sonazer Barfield, Special Agent with the United State

s Customs Service and the late Wendy N. The organization was founded in order to give women a network and a voice within their profession. The needs of the minority women in many police departments were not being met and their concerns were not being addressed. Today, some of our problems may have changed, however, the goals and objectives of the organization still remain the same. NOBWLE is looking for women and the support of men to help mentor to other women in the law enforcement community, to give back to our children, help support families with needs, and to continue being a strong role model in order to lift each other up. If you are interested in becoming a member of this organization, please contact a Chapter near you.
