Come along to the launch of Mackem Community

Knight Frank are bringing together a range of local organisations and support services under one roof at City Hall on Monday 8 September, making it easier for residents to access help, advice and essential support in one place.

Whether you're looking for information, support, a friendly conversation, or simply want to find out more about what's available in Sunderland

On the day, there will be:
✅ Advice and support from local organisations
✅ Donated toiletries and clothing available for those who need them
✅ Free refreshments
✅ Opportunities to connect with trusted local services

Joined by fantastic partners including Andy's Man Club, Age UK Sunderland, Sunderland Mind, Sunderland Carers Centre, County Durham and Sunderland Foodbank, Disability North and many more.

This weekend! Pop along to the Sunderland Minster for some free family fun 😀

ONE WEEK TO GO!

We can't wait for next week's Unity in the Community event here at the Minster on Saturday 15th August.

We will be celebrating Sunderland in a day of sharing, celebration, creativity, and community.

Taking place from 11am to 2pm, the event is free to attend, open to everyone and celebrates the diverse cultures that make Sunderland so special.

Wow what a fabulous day we've had with our Summer in the Square event at Keel Square! 😀

It was great to see so many people enjoying Sunderland, getting involved in activities and engaging with the team and our partner organisations! Remember, we're here to help you❤️

🛴 One uninsured e-scooter's journey ended abruptly.

Not every ride ends where you expect...

During our latest SAIL Night of Action, Sunderland City Council's Community Safety Team joined colleagues from Northumbria Police on hotspot patrols across Sunderland city centre.

Officers seized this uninsured electric scooter after it was stopped during the operation. The scooter is believed to be capable of speeds of up to 50mph, highlighting the potential risks posed when these vehicles are used illegally.

But it wasn't just about enforcement.

Our officers covered over 20km on pedal-assisted bikes, patrolling hotspot locations, speaking with local businesses and residents, providing reassurance, and responding to reports of anti-social behaviour.

What a fantastic morning at Fawcett Street Community Shop, Sunderland!

A big thank you to our SAIL partners for joining us at Fawcett Street Community shop. It was a great opportunity to come together over a brew, chat with our local partners and businesses, to share information, raise concerns, and strengthen relationships within our community.

Events like these help bring people together, encourage open conversations, and remind us that support is always available.
