🌟 Year 9 Explore the Future of Technology! 🌟

Six of our Year 9 pupils recently had the exciting opportunity to attend a celebration day at Digital Catapult in Gateshead, as part of the EDT Pathways to Employment programme.

Throughout the day, pupils immersed themselves in the world of cutting-edge technology, including:
🎮 Trying out the latest Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and learning how the technology works
🎬 Roleplaying on a Virtual Production film set, experiencing a range of studio roles
📱 Exploring and experimenting with Augmented Reality (AR)

It was a fantastic hands-on experience that gave our students a real insight into the technology shaping the future and the careers available within the digital and creative industries.
Our pupils had an amazing day and represented the school brilliantly — well done to all involved! 👏✨

🌟 Year 10 CV Workshop Success! 🌟

Some of our Year 10 pupils recently took part in a fantastic CV workshop led by Steve and Richie from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

During the session, students explored:
✅ What a CV is and why it’s so important
✅ The purpose of a CV when applying for jobs and opportunities
✅ How to identify their own strengths, skills, and achievements

The highlight of the session was seeing pupils begin drafting their very first CVs, using the skills and qualities they had identified. It was great to see their confidence grow as they recognised everything they already have to offer!

A huge thank you to Steve and Richie for delivering such an engaging and informative workshop. We’re delighted that they will be returning in a couple of weeks to work with more of our pupils.

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Year 10 Work Experience Students🌟

A huge congratulations to those Year 10 students who recently completed an incredible week of work experience! 👏
It’s been fantastic to see such a wide range of industries explored — from animal care and hospitality to construction, hair & beauty, healthcare and education.

Throughout the week, students demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm and a real willingness to learn — gaining valuable skills, building confidence and making a great impression in their workplaces. Many employers commented on how impressed they were with our students’ attitudes and work ethic! 🙌

Experiences like this are so important in helping young people understand the world of work, discover their interests and start shaping their future pathways.
Well done, Year 10 — we are incredibly proud of you all! 🌟
