While our football club is using its platform to champion inclusion and unity, where is our Reform council? Silence speaks volumes.

You cannot claim to stand up for our communities while failing to stand up against racism.

Wearside deserves better. Anti-racism isn’t optional. It’s a responsibility. 🟥

👏 Thanks to the cleansing teams who are always quick to respond when we report issues.

📍 This was in Ross/Empress back lane. They can only deal with problems they know about, which is why it matters having local representatives who live here and see what’s happening.

🚯 There’s no excuse for people dumping rubbish where we live. It’s not fair on residents who take pride in our area.

📩 If you spot fly-tipping or dumped rubbish, send us a message and we’ll get it reported. 👍

Newcastle Road drainage issue reported ✅

We’ve reported an issue with the drainage gullies along the Fulwell Mill stretch of Newcastle Road and asked for them to be checked all the way along. 👀

Standing water can quickly become a problem for the road surface when temperatures drop, and none of us need more damage to roads that are already in need of attention.

It’s a straightforward job if it’s picked up early, so hopefully it can be dealt with before it becomes a bigger issue.
