Southmoor has successfully achieved the Skills Builder Gold Award from the The Skills Builder Partnership! After having achieved the Silver Award in 2021, and then the Gold Award in 2023 for the first time, we are proud to be awarded the Gold Award again for the second time, which is valid for another 3 years.
This is a fantastic achievement and this recognition celebrates our commitment to building essential skills like Teamwork, Leadership, Problem Solving, and Creativity across every year group and subject area. It is a testament to the dedication, passion and commitment of all our students in developing their essential skills in preparation for a successful future. These skills are associated with positive life outcomes, as well as higher levels of literacy, numeracy and academic attainment.
Through all subject lessons and our Aspire and Achieve programmes, students have developed these skills, reflected on their progress and had the opportunity to use them when meeting employers, businesses, taking part in work experience, trips, mock interviews, careers interviews as well as using them during social time at school and in the community.
