Stuck in the mud? 🥾

Mud can quickly become dangerous, especially near open water and when the tide is rising.

Check local warnings signs before setting off and avoid walking across muddy areas, as hidden channels of fast-flowing water can be difficult to spot.

If you become stuck:

• Sit back and spread your weight evenly across the surface

• Tell others not to attempt a rescue, as they could become stuck too

• Call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

A sad day for Hunstanton CG as they loose their operational vehicle due to old age!

Hopefully the new recruit comes with a little more room for the really important operational equipment... tea and biscuits! ☕🍪😂

Found something unusual on the beach?

Although rare, it could be unexploded ordnance.

Stormy seas, bad weather and high tides can uncover objects that have been hidden for many years.

Ordnance can come in many shapes and sizes, so if you spot something you’re unsure about, don’t touch or move it.

Call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. We’ll work with the relevant authorities to make the area safe and ensure the object is dealt with correctly.

🚨 CALLOUT – HM Coastguard Sutton Bridge

At around 10:15am today, Coastguard Rescue Officers from Sutton Bridge were paged by Humber to assist with an incident out near The Wash, Sutton Bridge.

A significant multi‑team response was requested, bringing in colleagues from:

- HM Coastguard Skegness
- HM Coastguard Wrangle
- Hunstanton Coastguard Rescue Team
- Hunstanton RNLI
- The incredible crew of Rescue 912 from Bristow Group
- Lincolnshire Lowland Search and Rescue

Multiple searches were carried out across the area, both on foot, out at sea and in the air by the helicopter crew, who worked tirelessly overhead.

We’re pleased to share that the incident was brought to a positive conclusion a short time ago.

Look after yourself and your friends. Never walk home alone.

🚨 Sutton Bridge CRT – Evening Callout

Paged at 20:44hrs tonight to assist with a search for a missing person along the River Great Ouse, King’s Lynn.

As the team arrived and were preparing to be tasked alongside colleagues from HM Coastguard Hunstanton and partner agencies, they were stood down after confirmation that the missing person had been safely located inland.

Following a short debrief, the team returned to station — treated on the drive back to a stunning dry‑storm lightning display across the sky.
