The Sutton Valence Parish Council held its Annual Parish Assembly at Sutton Valence Village Hall on Wednesday 20th May 2026. It was a fantastic opportunity for parishioners and local organisations to come together in the spirit of community, to discuss current affairs of the parish and also look to future collaborations.

QHOF have set a family Easter Trail again this year for the whole family to enjoy over the bank holiday weekend. A shorter route has been added for shorter legs. Pick up your pack at either village pub and enjoy a refreshing drink or meal on your return. Both pubs family and dog friendly.

Please note, new dates and times have been agreed for these works. New start date is 23 March 2026, with estimated completion by 27 March 2026, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only.

Kent County Council - Temporary Road Closure & Temporary 20MPH Speed Restriction - A274 North Street, Sutton Valence - (Maidstone District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by ADH Groundworks, it will be necessary to impose restrictions on part of A274 North Street, Sutton Valence, from 23 March 2026 with estimated completion by 27 March 2026.

A274 North Street will be closed outside Haven Farm, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The speed limit on A274 North Street will be reduced to 20mph between the Village Hall and Haven Close. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 North Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 North Street, A274 High Street, A274 Station Road, A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Biddenden Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 North Street, A262 Tenterden Road, A262 High Street, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 Biddenden Road, A262 The Street, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A229 Wilsley Pound, A229 The Common, A229 Camden Hill, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Knoxbridge, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 High Street, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Linton Hill, A229 Linton Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 North Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow highway improvement works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Kent County Council.

Kent County Council gives notice that Tumblers Hill, Sutton Valence will be closed to through traffic, on 26th February 2026 for up to 5 days.

The road will be closed outside Ragstone Cottage.

The alternative route is via Tumblers Hill, High Street, A274 North Street, Chartway Street, Pleasure House Lane, East Sutton Road, Tumblers Hill, and vice versa.

This closure is necessary to enable water pipe repairs to be carried out by South East Water.

This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site and is valid for a period of no more than 21 days.

South East Water - Temporary Road Closure - Forsham Lane, Sutton Valence - 18th March 2026 (Maidstone District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by South East Water, it will be necessary to close part of Forsham Lane, Sutton Valence, from 18th March 2026 with estimated completion by 20th March 2026.

Forsham Lane, Sutton Valence, will be closed in the vicinity of The Finches. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forsham Lane, A274 Headcorn Road, New Barn Road, Babylon Lane, Forsham Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow water pipe works to be carried out, works are undertaken by South East Water.
