🍴👩‍🍳 FRIDAY COOKING GROUP – WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO? 👨‍🍳🍰

Our Friday Cooking Group has got off to a fantastic start at Sutton Young People’s Centre! 💛

🍗 INTRO WEEK – CHICKEN WRAPS

Our young people chose what they wanted to make, and chicken wraps were the winner! 🌯 They got hands-on with preparing ingredients, safe food handling, teamwork and, of course, enjoying the finished result together!

🍪 WEEK 1 – BISCOFF & OREO CHEESECAKE 🍰

Things got a little sweeter last week! 😋 Young people worked together to create delicious Biscoff & Oreo cheesecakes from scratch.
But it's about so much more than cooking! 💪✨

Throughout the sessions, our young people are developing:

🔪 Food preparation and kitchen skills
🧼 Food hygiene and safe working practices
📋 Following recipes and instructions
💷 Understanding ingredients, quantities and budgeting
🤝 Teamwork, communication and sharing responsibilities
🧠 Problem-solving and making decisions
💛 Confidence, independence and a sense of achievement

Most importantly, the programme is planned around young people’s choices and interests, giving them a real voice in what they cook and learn.
A big well done to everyone who has got stuck in so far! 👏👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
