Happy 90th Birthday Stan! 🎈🎉

Stan O’Flynn began volunteering at Swanage Pier in 2005 and, over the past twenty years, has become an integral member of the Pier’s maintenance team. His first task was painting the gatehouse, before going on to help lay the plaques as part of the Sponsor a Plank scheme, which has since grown into a significant fundraising initiative.

After six years working on the plaques, Stan moved into general pier maintenance, undertaking a wide range of work from replacing planks to repairing railings and much more. Not only is he a key part of the maintenance team, but his design experience has also been invaluable. Stan has designed and created many features across the Pier, including the entrance shelter, museum information boards and the stone rubbing trail.

He has also designed pieces for our Christmas events, such as shelving used to separate the grotto from the main café and shop, the grotto fireplace, Father Christmas’s sleigh and even a cable car.

Come along to Swanage Pier and discover the fascinating world beneath the Pier that’s been captured through a lens!

We are delighted to present a stunning collection of underwater photographs by Paul and Alison Pettitt, revealing the hidden marine life and captivating scenes that exist beneath Swanage Pier. These remarkable images offer a rare glimpse into a vibrant underwater environment often unseen by visitors above the waterline.

☛ The exhibition is located on the lower deck of the Pier.
☛ As this area is exposed, the exhibition is weather dependent.
☛ Normal Pier admission charges apply.

Lot long to go until Yoga on the Pier returns for its eighth year. These sessions offer a joyful start to the day, a chance to connect with the Swanage community, and an opportunity to support the Swanage Pier Trust.

All Levels Guided Class:
📅 Starting 2nd June until 25th August
📅 Tuesday mornings: 8.00am–9.00am
📅 AND Saturday 25th July : 5.30pm–6.30pm

Intermediate Level Guided Class:
📅 Starting 4th June until 27th August
📅 Thursday mornings: 8.00am–9.00am (no class on Thursday 25th June)

☛ £12.00 per class
☛ £40.00 for four classes (consecutive dates)
☛ £70.00 for six classes throughout the season
