🚨09:34🚨

This morning we were called to a local car park where a car had accidentally driven through a stone wall and was left in a precarious position.

The owner had managed to get out of the vehicle before we arrived and luckily was uninjured.

We made the vehicle safe, put in a cordon around the car as the wall was unsafe from the impact and helped the local council operations team with scene safety.

We remained on scene until a recovery vehicle came to remove the car.

🚒00:40🚒

Early this morning ourselves and our Tech Rescue unit from Poole were asked to assist in the rescue of a Golden Retriever by local Coastguard teams.

I’m pleased to say that good working between the two agencies resulted in the dog being rescued and lowered to the shore. The dog was frightened but unharmed and reunited with its owners.

This was the station’s 5th call out in just over 24 hours.

We have also attended:

🔥2x fires in the open🔥

🔔1 x alarm activating in a local care home 🔔

💦 1x flooding to a residential property due to broken water pipe 💦

🔥🚒 Two call outs for the station today🚒🔥

At 07:50 this morning ourselves and Wareham were called to a property fire above a commercial premises on town.

On arrival we found the loft space was smoke logged due to an electrical fire. The fire had also burnt through a plastic water pipe which had luckily extinguished the fire before our arrivals. Crews spent a while cutting away timbers to check for fire spread and also stopping the leak.

At 16:20 this afternoon one pump and our Land Rover were mobilised to a fire at a local campsite. The fire was out on arrival but found one person suffering burns to the lower body. Water was applied to the burns before South West Ambulance arrived and took over. We wish the person a speedy recovery.

At 19:25 this evening we were asked to re-inspect a boat that had caught fire earlier in the day in Durslton Bay.

On arrival we found the boat had re-ignited. We then had to carry down firefighting equipment, which included a light portable pump, down a steep and rocky path to where the boat was located.

The fire was extinguished fairly quickly and then had the hard task of bringing up all the equipment.

A big, massive thanks to Swanage Coastguard who came back out to help us bring the equipment up the steep steps, it was much appreciated!
