It’s been good to speak to residents and welcome new students to our community on the 🥰

Lots of feedback from people across Uplands including:

♻️ bins
💩 dog waste
🏘🚗 traffic calming

We also listened to concerns regarding the cost of living crisis and residents worries about lifting of the fracking ban.

Fortunately, our Welsh Labour government have made sure that there will be no fracking taking place in Wales. 🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

After a lifetime spent dedicated to service, her loss will be felt around the world.

Our thoughts are with the royal family, to whom we offer our deepest condolences.

Our 17th year, of Swansea's must-see, Free International Dance Festival, enjoy a free dance festival this summer across the city!

Once again, Taliesin brings together performers from across the UK and beyond, dancing alongside local dance groups, in a world-class dance festival.

This year, Taliesin brings dance performances outside to you, across two weekends.

You will be able to enjoy Taliesin’s Dance Days in Cwmdonkin Park, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June, and we head to the city centre on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July.

Got an idea for the community?

We've launched a new round of funding for ideas that can bring new vibrancy to local communities.

The opportunity is part of Crowdfund Swansea, a scheme that helps deliver innovative community-led ideas to improve the city.

Eligible projects could receive a council pledge of up to £5,000.

To be in with a chance of securing the support, local groups should create their projects on crowdfunding platform Spacehive and pitch to the Crowdfund Swansea Fund by September 14.

Those who have succeeded in previous funding rounds have included Gowerton Athletic Club who helped fund Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Its Crowdfund Swansea fundraising reached almost £7,000, with 114 backers making donations.

The project's Dean Mason said: "We were delighted with Crowdfund Swansea's help in helping our community celebrate the jubilee."

A project still generating community support is run by Gower's Llanmorlais Community Hall Charity.

Charity committee member Ceris Jones said: "We're determined to reopen as soon as possible so the hall is viable for many more years to come. It will provide access to groups, will forge relationships and will promote friendships, cohesion, inclusion and diversity."

Council cabinet member Andrew Stevens said: "We're ready to support projects that put local people at the heart of the efforts to help Swansea kick on.

"I'm also calling on companies and foundations to join us in offering support to ideas people post on Crowdfund Swansea. This could be in funding or in-kind - anything that can help make projects a real success.

"Companies already supporting in this way include Gower Power Co-op CIC and Coastal Housing Group."

Crowdfund Swansea is run by the council with crowdfunding platform Spacehive.
