What a lovely warm welcome Councillor Tracie Batcup and myself had with Friends of Pontlliw Park this morning.

The Tennis club was in full swing as well lots of children taking part and all enjoying in the lovely sunshine.They were supplied with a generous snack pack as well and Mum's and Dad's could enjoy a cuppa and delicious toasted sandwiches which were all served by the volunteers of FOPP well done ladies we can't thankyou enough for your time and effort you are an inspiration to the community of Pontlliw.

If you fancy a cuppa and a toasted sandwich why not pop along to the Hub which is situated in the park any donation is appreciated I can assure you will have a lovely warm Welcome by everyone.

Thankyou to the Gardener's for all the work that they do to make the park looking so lovely you should all be proud of yourselves. They are looking for future volunteers to help out pop along if you have a few hours to spare as they would be so grateful.

What a fabulous warm welcome myself and Councillor Tracy Batcup had today from the 11 o'clock club which is run by Mr Jeffrey Burn and his lovely wife Eleanor at Tircoed Village Hall.

The Club is held every two weeks at the Tircoed village hall from 11am until 12 noon.

They all give us insight to what they do and what events they organise and also how they hold social events and they do have an amazing time among themselves.

The Club is very well organised and has such a lovely relaxed feeling it was so lovely to see everyone chatting among themselves and having a lovely time.

They certainly made us very welcome with Tea and biscuits on board as well thank you again.

Myself and councillor Tracy Batcup have been invited to a few events which they are organising in the near future within their club and we are delighted to have been asked to join them. How lovely is that.

Thank you all again for making us feel very welcome within your club we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I had the privilege today presenting a commemorative plate on behalf of Pontlliw & Tircoed Community Council to Mr Jeffrey Burn who celebrated his 80th birthday today with all his family and friends. It was a lovely celebration and I felt very honoured to be part of it along with Councillor Mrs Tracey Batcup.

Mr Jeffrey Burn successfully runs The 11 o'clock club in Tircoed village along with his wife Eleanor. All his friends in the club spoke very highly of Mr Burn and said how successful the club is with different events going on within the club which is held every two weeks at Tircoed village hall.

Congratulations to Osian Moses the former paper boy who has had a busy season of sports.

In soccer ⚽ the West wales cup under 14 champions 🏆,

Bgcw under 14 champions 🏆,

Swansea league cup winners U14 🏆, currently top of Swansea league 14 waiting an appeal before announcing winners,

Finalists for Swansea school boys in Welsh cup,

Represented southwest Wales for school boys.

In the Rugby world Plate winners year 9 Pontardulais Comprehensive school,

Plate winners under 14s for Pontardulais.

Well done for your achievements especially from your family and the community 👏👏👏👏👏

Pontlliw & Tircoed Community Council is proud to be offering free childrens tennis lessons for the 14th year

Lessons begin on Monday 20th July and will take place at the MUGA Pontlliw Park during the summer holidays with 1 hour slots at 10,11 and 12 o'clock on Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Children aged 5 -7 are welcome to join the 10' o'clock lessons but will not be able to stay for the later sessions. Children aged 8 and over can join any sessions.

If you would like to sign your children please kindly send their name and age together with your preferred days and timeslots to

Please note there will be no lessons on Friday 31st July, Wednesday 12th Monday 24th Wednesday 26th and Friday 28th August.
