🎉 **Congratulations, Estela!** 🎉

We are delighted to share that Estela has successfully completed her apprenticeship and, from Monday 27 July, will take up her new role as Assistant Clerk at Sway Parish Council.

When Estela joined us at just 16 years old, straight from school, we believe she became the first official Parish Clerk apprentice. It was a new approach for us, and one that required faith from everyone involved. We are incredibly grateful to our councillors for embracing the idea and recognising the value of investing in a young person, and to the residents of Sway who welcomed and encouraged Estela from day one. We also extend thanks to neighbouring town and parish councils who were kind enough to support the idea by welcoming Estela into their authorities for placements, allowing her to observe meetings, shadow clerks and officers, and experience some aspects of clerking which we don't cover here in Sway.

Over the past eighteen months, Estela has grown into a valued member of our team. She has developed an impressive range of skills, taken on increasing responsibility, and made a real contribution to the work of the Council and the services we provide to the community.

Her achievement is a testament to her hard work, commitment and willingness to learn. We couldn't be prouder of everything she has accomplished, and we're delighted that she will be continuing her career with us as Assistant Clerk.
