I wonder if a few of you would like to help.

I received a request from a lead worker at Hartford Care’s Cotswold Rise care home in Purton, Swindon Wiltshire. Here is her request.

I, just thought I’d drop you a message as we have the most wonderful veteran resident turning 90 on the 17th September. His family are unfortunately away, and we’d really love to put on something special for him that afternoon to celebrate not only his 90th birthday, but also his years as a veteran. I wondered whether you, or anyone you know, might like to come along and celebrate with him over some tea and cake? Or perhaps you might be able to suggest a few people or organisations I could reach out to who may like to pop in for an hour or two. It doesn’t need to be anything huge — we just really want to make him feel special and make sure his 90th birthday is one to remember….Helen Edwards (Hartford Care’s Cotswold Rise carehome in Purton, Swindon Wiltshire)

If you think you would like to help that would be fantastic and a great blessing to the care home team and residents. Perhaps turning up with medals or the like to signify service.

Please contact Helen Edwards, her email is: [email protected]

Next week on Thursday 10th Sep, we invite you to our social drop in at The Retail Outlet Village in Swindon, between 11am and 1pm. Fraser Plus the owners supply refreshments but Costa is directly opposite if you feel like a classier coffee.
I have attached a poster and map. Look out for the sandwich board display sign outside the room opposite Costa.
Look forward to greeting you
