Dear all,
It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you that Wanborough Swim School has no option but to close and cease trading with immediate effect.
The landlord has recently confirmed that, notwithstanding the total closure of the pool during the period March-July 2020 as a result of the government’s restrictions imposed in respect of COVID-19, we are required to make the full rental payments of in excess of £4000 per month for that period. We have also been required to make various improvements to the property before we are allowed back in.
As you can imagine, this amounts to a huge amount of money and makes it impossible and uneconomical for us to continue trading.
Having built up the business from scratch, from nothing but a small advert on Facebook over 5 years ago, it is a heart-breaking blow for both me personally and for our incredibly dedicated and talented teachers and staff that have built up the amazing reputation of the swim school within the local community.
Personally, my priority first and foremost is to ensure that everyone is refunded in full for any monies that they have paid to us.
Please allow me to contact you all personally and individually to sort out your refunds, but please be aware, as its just me, this may take some time. I will be starting the ring around phone calls to you all from Monday 20th July.
Looking to the future in the most positive light we can, Cricklade Swim School on Saturday and Sunday afternoons will be able to reopen in November 2020 with the leisure centre having undergone a full renovation this year. Both Rachel and Georgia have already confirmed with me that they will continue teaching with us at Cricklade upon its reopening – which is great news. The option to use any balance you have with us to transfer to lessons with us at Cricklade will be there also.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support of our swim school since 2015, I am sorry it has come to this as I know how much your children love our lessons but I am afraid my options have become exhausted at this time.
