Cook / Kitchen Assistant Required

We are looking for a nursery cook / kitchen assistant to join us.

This role is 3 hours per day, hours to be discussed as some flexibility is required / possible.

The successful candidate must have 2 years experience of cooking in a commercial kitchen and hold it be willing to undertake a Level 2 (or above) Food Hygiene Course and an Enhanced DBS on the update service. These are essential requirements and references will be sought.

Today we had our unannounced inspection from Swindon Borough Councils Environmental Health Team.

These inspections look at all aspects of the preparation, handling, storing and serving of food and our cleaning and training schedules.

We are very happy to have retained our 5 Star rating.

Today we celebrated all our amazing school leavers. 🎉🎉🎉

It’s always a bitter sweet time as we are so proud of them and they are all ready for school, but we will miss them all hugely. ❤️❤️❤️

Team Playsteps showed once again what a brilliant team they are, with everyone doing their bit to ensure that the afternoon was a success - and we even had a red arrows style fly over which was fantastic timing! ✈️ ✈️ ✈️

Today we have said ‘Happy Retirement’ to Chris as he heads off to start his ‘longest holiday’

Chris started Playsteps in October 2005 and in 2017 we added our Kembrey nursery to the Playsteps Family.

It’s been a rollercoaster of the very best kind and Playsteps has gone from strength to strength.

It’s been a privilege to work with you Chris and we look forward to your monthly visits for the rest of the year, but for now, switch off your alarm, rest and enjoy every single well earned moment. ❤️ ❤️

We currently have a temporary cook / lunch cover position at our Kembrey Park (SN28AD) nursery.

Preparing lunch and tea for between 16 and 26 children per day.

Hours of work are 10-1 Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will need an Enhanced DBS check, references and a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

This position is likely to be for 10 weeks but this may be extended.

Previous cooking experience is preferable but full training will be given.
