I had the honour of being asked to officially open the cricket nets by cutting the ribbon.

I was delighted to do this. These nets will be a great asset to the cricket club and also the village.

It was a beautiful day, perfect for the Hoopers Field Open Day and I tried out bowls and petanque with varying degrees of success.

My husband has rejoined the tennis club and I'm toying with joining the bowls club, so a very successful day all round.

πŸ“£ Planning Update: Inlands Farm (S/26/0173)

Wanborough Parish Council has now submitted a formal objection to the planning application for a large residential development at Inlands Farm, The Marsh.

After reviewing the proposal in detail, the Parish Council found that the development would have a significant impact on the village, including:
β€’ Building outside the settlement boundary, contrary to the Local Plan.
β€’ Loss of the Area of Non Coalescence, reducing the essential green gap between Wanborough and Swindon.
β€’ Harm to the North Wessex Downs National Landscape and views into and out of the village.
β€’ Impact on key heritage assets including St Andrew’s Church and the Upper Wanborough Conservation Area.
β€’ Concerns over traffic, flooding, ecology, and the unsustainable, car dependent nature of the development.
The Parish Council has therefore formally objected and requested that the application be considered by the Planning Committee.
