To help us keep Wanborough looking its best, please report any village maintenance issues to our dedicated email address.

This includes matters such as:

✅ Overgrown vegetation
✅ Footpath defects or obstructions
✅ Damaged signs, benches or noticeboards
✅ Minor repairs to Parish Council assets
✅ Litter and fly-tipping concerns

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: BURYCROFT, WANBOROUGH 🚧

Swindon Borough Council has issued a temporary road closure notice for Burycroft to allow Thames Water to carry out essential work.

📅 Dates: Thursday 1 October 2026 for 5 days

📍 Affected Area: Burycroft (between High Street and The Marsh)

🚗 Diversion Route: High Street, un-named road between Callas Hill and Kite Hill, Church Road, Pack Hill, and vice versa.

Verge Cutting Update

We are aware of residents' concerns regarding the current condition of the grass verges around the parish.

Please be aware that verge cutting is the responsibility of Swindon Borough Council (SBC), not the Parish Council. We have contacted SBC for an update and have been advised that the process of appointing a contractor is still underway. SBC is currently evaluating the tenders received and expects to confirm a contractor shortly.

We understand the frustration caused by the delay and will continue to liaise with SBC and keep residents informed of any further updates we receive.

🚧 PUBLIC NOTICE – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE 🚧
Please be aware that Callas Hill, Wanborough will be temporarily closed to all traffic from Thursday 16 July 2026 until midnight on Sunday 19 July 2026.
📍 Location: Callas Hill between the Burgh Crossroads and High Street junction
✅ The closure is being implemented for health and safety reasons to facilitate the Motor Cross of Great Britain event at Foxhill Moto Park.
🚗 Diversion Route:
Traffic will be diverted via:

The Ridgeway
A346 Marlborough Road
Pack Hill(and vice versa)

📢 Full Council Meeting Agenda Published
The agenda for the next Full Council meeting is now available to view. The meeting is due to be held on 22nd June at 7:00pm in the Village Hall.

🌿 Overgrown Footpaths in the Village 🌿

We are aware that a number of footpaths around the village have become overgrown.
At present, the Parish Council is without a handyperson, whose role would normally include maintaining these areas. We are actively advertising for this position and hope to have someone in place soon.
In the meantime, we have arranged for our contractor to carry out some of the necessary work to help improve access and safety.
