Adult Crafting Sessions

Come along and learn a new craft, or practice one you already know.

The first project will be beading, so you can produce a wall hanging or a piece of jewellery or cover a lighter with beads. Endless possibilities!

If you want to come along and do something else, please do. Everyone is welcome and there will also be something for the young ones to occupy themselves with.

Sessions fun on Fridays between 11am - 1pm

Tenant Academy can help you access a course where you will gain an understanding of the knowledge and skills required for a job role within the digital workforce area, such as data entry, data analyst, performance lead.

The hybrid (online & in Swindon) course takes up to 16 weeks and will equip you with the skills and knowledge to start a new career.

Bags of Taste offers a mentored home cooking programme where you can learn to prepare tasty, healthy meals for under £1. All you need is a kitchen and a phone!

Cook at your own pace from home, and receive step-by-step assistance through WhatsApp or phone. The groups are supportive, fun and a wonderful way to meet new people.

You will also receive tips and advice on budgeting and saving money while shopping. To get you started, Bags of Taste will deliver all the necessary ingredients, some equipment, and a local shopping guide right to your doorstep.

Looking to develop your DIY skills?

The Tenant Academy has a few spaces available for their 'Building DIY confidence and skills' course starting on 9th of June 2025.

The course consists of six sessions where you will learn:
🔹 Woodwork – making a picture frame.
🔹 How to prepare walls to paint and wallpaper.
🔹 How to paint and wallpaper.
🔹 How to hang picture frames, shelves and curtain rails.
🔹 How to repair cupboard doors and hinges.
🔹 How to repair minor cracks and holes in a wall.
🔹 How to change a toilet seat.
🔹 Plumbing – looking at causes of a leaky tap, how to unblock your sink and general household plumbing.

If you would like to learn how to cook healthy and affordable food for you and your family or develop your cooking skills further, why not sign up for one of the two cookery courses starting in April?

🫑Cooking for beginners - looking at cooking techniques, aiming to develop your skills and knowledge to create healthy and affordable food.

🫑Cooking with more confidence – looking at a wider range of cooking skills and techniques, aiming to develop your knowledge and skills on batch cooking and meal planning. In the last cooking course, learners looked at different types of pastry and made dishes like pie and jam tarts!
