Please note that, for operational reasons, North Swindon Library will be closed this Sunday (August 30th). We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

As part of our usual operating hours, all five Council-run libraries are closed on Bank Holiday Monday (August 31st).

As ever, books can be renewed online at swindon.spydus.co.uk.

eBooks, eAudiobooks, eNewspapers and eMagazines can always be borrowed online for free by downloading the Borrowbox app or at swindon.borrowbox.com.

Our Summer Reading Challenge Launch Party is tomorrow at Central Library - we hope you can join us!

Our wonderful Children's Library Patron, award-winning author and illustrator will be launching the festivities with a Story Time from 10.30am.

A selection of fun and free activities will be available from 11am -3pm, including sing-a-longs, crafting musical instruments and bead bracelets, making music with our selection of instruments, designing bookmarks, colouring at our Creation Station, and face paints and glitter tattoos!

and Swindon Dance will also be in the courtyard with Street Dance-offs and an Open Mic music performance. Plus dance taster sessions at Swindon Dance.

Museum & Art Swindon will also be there with information about their summer activities.

And the library cafe will be open for tasty treats and refreshments.

And don't forget to sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge and receive your free pack. We can't wait to see you!

Day closure notice: North Swindon Library, Sunday 19 July

Due to an unavoidable staff shortage, North Swindon Library will be closed this Sunday 19th July.

UPDATE: Revised Opening Hours
Due to extremely high interior temperatures inside some of our libraries, there will be some early closures this week at 2 of our libraries. The other libraries will not be affected. We apologise for any inconvenience

Friday 10th July: Central & Highworth Library will close at 2pm.

Saturday 11th July: Central Library will close at 2pm.

Due to extremely high interior temperatures inside some of our libraries, there will be some early closures this week at 2 of our libraries. We apologies for any inconvenience.
Central Library will close at the earlier time of 4pm on Wed 8 Jul, Thu 9 Jul, and Fri 10 Jul.
Highworth Library will close at the earlier time of 4pm on Fri 10 Jul.

Central Library, Highworth and Park Library will all close at the earlier time of 2pm today.
