Hi folks, before I complete my handover, I have just popped over to Redhouse to ensure that my request for the removal of dangerously high levels of rubbish has finally been cleared and was pleased to see it is now gone. This is the aspect that I enjoyed the most about being a Councillor for the last three years - making a difference to residents lives.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me, both within the party as well as those who voted for me at the election. Whilst I am naturally disappointed by the result, I wish all who were elected the very best in what is inevitably going to be a difficult number of years due to being a hung council. Regardless of political colours, my experience as Councillor has made me realise the hard work and personal sacrifices many make and I thank them for it.

I will continue to support the Labour party in any capacity I can and I thank the local community for your warmth and generosity of spirit.

Last month, Theresa and I wrote to many of the renters in our ward talking about the Renters Rights Act that will make a real difference (such as the abolition of no fault eviction). This is a positive development that we are pleased to support.
