Looking for a creative way to spend your summer? Signal Festival starts this week.

Signal Festival 2026 is bringing communities together with a vibrant programme of workshops, performances and hands-on activities, celebrating everything from music and theatre to dance, film, visual arts and the spoken word.

Running from the 24 July until 1 August, there are plenty of opportunities for all ages to get involved, including a range of free events. Whether you're keen to try something new or simply enjoy local creative talent, there's something for everyone.

The Summer Reading Challenge started at the weekend at your local libraries! ☀️

This free summer holiday activity, from our friends at The Reading Agency, is a great way to keep your child reading over the summer break. All you need to do is head to your local library to sign up! 📚

For the National Year of Reading, the theme is Read to the Beat, encouraging children to explore the connection between stories and songs, whether that’s through lyrics, K-Pop comics or their favourite artist’s story. 🎵

Children can read anything they like and will collect special stickers and rewards for their reading!
