One of our library members sent us a message last week.

Her daughter is three and has been coming to the library since she was 4 weeks old! She comes to our Thursday story and rhyme time session with her grandad.
This is why the library is so special, we get to watch kids grow up here, hopefully with a life-long love of reading.

We are looking for a volunteer (or two!) to join our wonderful team who run the story and rhyme time on a Thursday at 10am through term time. It's free to attend for 0-4s. We read a couple of stories, do some songs (think "Old MacDonald had a farm"), blow some bubbles and do some colouring in. It's lovely!

It doesn't have to be a weekly commitment, offering an hour every few weeks would really help us keep this lovely session going.

If you think you can help, or know someone who might be able to, please get in touch through this page, by emailing [email protected] or leave your details with one of the volunteers in the library.

Thank you!

Keep Reading to the Beat!

We’re on the last stretch of the Summer Reading Challenge and there’s still plenty of time to finish your books!

Children can enjoy stories by:

• Listening to audiobooks
• Reading graphic novels or comics
• Choosing short stories or poetry
• Sharing a book with a grown‑up
• Picking picture books

Every one of these counts towards your challenge books — so keep going, you’re nearly there!
