From before 1000AD up to the present day. Opening times are Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 1-4.00pm

Tattie howkin memories. We are taking part in Doors Open on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September and as part of this we are looking for any photos and memories of tattie howkin. We thought you'd like to know that we will once again be taking part in Aberdeenshire's Door Open event. We will be open on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of September from 10am - 4pm. We will let you know our exciting plans soon.

After last week's answer to which road was formerly Park Road, we received this lovely poem written by Scott Higgins who lived there as a lad. Here are the names of the people he remembered from bottom to top. These are the surnames of people who lived in Tree Road at the Time. the cottages were Elm, Rowan, Beech, Oak, Linden, Cedar, Maple, Hazel, Lime and Aspen
Middleton/Milne/Gray/McLeod/Brown/Gray/Higgins/Scott/Emslie/Stott.

The answer to yesterday's question was c) Arbroath Abbey, founded in 1178 by William the Lion, King of Scotland was funded by church income of over twenty parishes mostly in north-east Scotland. Tarves was one of these parishes, and a charter of 1189 granting 'Tarveys' to the Abbey, is the first known instance of the village name in the written record.
