Over half of major UK trauma hospitals don't have 24/7 on-site helipads, meaning air ambulances often have to land off-site and delay urgent care. I just signed the petition to fix this—will you add your name?

Further to my 18th March post, I was passing Summerhouse View on 14th April, in support of local residents, and spotted the Children's Play Park is re-opened. Yeovil Town Council Estates Manager confirmed a damaged piece of equipment was removed and the play surface repaired. When resources allow we will look to replace the equipment.

'Two for the price of one'. Repainted DYL. . . and a 'free' extension. When residents complained of worn worn-out DYL at Tower Road, on 20th March I met with our brilliant Highways engineers, who quickly spotted the original, faded lines ended short of what was shown on the drawings. Not only have Highways set up the repaint job, but also the lines will be 'extended' by five metres as per the original drawings. I'd call that a result!

Citizenspace. Have your say on plans which may affect you, where you are, at https://somersetcouncil.citizenspace.com/

Citizenspace is the online space for public consultation on Somerset Council plans, proposals & initiatives. Somerset Council wants to hear from you, to help shape delivery of change - and minimise the number of people who say "you never told me".

If you are a Yeovil Central resident, in the blue area on the map at https://mapit.mysociety.org/area/143804.html, and require support, assistance, or an update on what's happening where you are, email Cllr Dave Woan at [email protected]

Report potholes (and all other problems) on the road:
https://www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/report-a-problem-on-the-road/
1: choose the problem
2: report the problem
3: mark the location of the problem on the interactive map
4: describe the problem (and what you want done about it!)
5: (if safe to do so) add photos and complete your details.
6: submit - use the six-digit ref number to track progress, at: https://service.somerset.gov.uk/report-status

Please make it easy for the inspectors to find the pothole or road defect. e.g. If the pothole/defect is outside a specific property, please give the door number, and if you have it, the postcode. If near a street light, please give the column number. Add your name and phone number, in case we need to contact you.

Online is the quickest and cost-effective way to obtain action. Pothole requests are inspected within 3 working days and repairs planned as per Somerset Council Highway Safety Inspection Manual. https://www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/highway-safety-inspections/

Another productive canvassing session, 24th March, in Goldcroft, with these two legends. . .introducing myself to residents who don't know me already; catching up with those who do. Finding out what's bothering people (and what's not!), and letting people know what I'm doing for Yeovil Central residents and businesses. If you missed me email: [email protected]

Friday 20th March, out with Somerset Council Traffic Engineers, looking to repaint and extend a set of double yellow lines somewhere in Yeovil Central. With local authority resources stretched wafer-thin, our guys do a brilliant and sometimes thankless job. Today's visit is in response to resident requests, and I'm always happy to see what can be done.

On my 'Focus' newsletter delivery round 17th March in Summerhouse View. Yeovil Town Council confirmed the 'keep out' sign on the children's play park is temporary, after the weekly inspection revealed a weld failure between slide & handrail. To avoid a potential finger entrapment, YTC have contacted a welder. As soon as the repair is complete, the park will re-open.
